Ordered the three enchilada plate with rice and beans . The food here was very tasty. Tasted fresh even the rice tasted like it was made today. I was a little shocked to see that the enchiladas were only about 3 in Long .
The guacamole is not a chunky restaurant style in my opinion guacamole it’s runny and thin with no taste. But the rest of it was pretty good. I am happy to report that they don’t douse everything in salt. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from here again!!!
I wish the chicken was in Long strips instead a little tiny cubes in the three plate enchilada. I used to do my laundry next to this place and I’m not sure it’s someplace that I would like to eat in. I could use a little updating especially in the bathroom.

Authentic Mexican food with perfectly balanced flavors. The ceviche was fresh and served on a crispy tortilla. Perfectly made chips and salsa with perfectly chilled beer. Last but not least, the steak tacos arrived accompanied with rice and beans. Everything was delicious and very affordable!!

We went there on Oct. 15, 2023 (our first time). It’s funny . . . our initial plan was to get lunch at Taco Bell which is only a 5-minute walk from El Gran Amigo. The only reason we skipped Taco Bell was because it was too crowded. We found El Gran Amigo purely by accident. We ordered a “chile relleno plate” and a “chile verde super quesadilla.” Both items were decent. I was sort of expecting larger portion sizes, but, oh well. I thought the pork for my “chile verde” could have been more tender; the flavor was decent (not great). I DID appreciate the “cheesiness” of my quesadilla. The service was “nothing to write home about.” It was “acceptable,” at best.

Incorrect order twice in a 15 min window. I ordered a chicken super burrito, which on the menu inside costs over $14 and clearly states the super has the same things as the regular (meat, beans, rice) but comes cheese, sour cream and guacamole.
When we got home I was disappointed to learn my burrito was only- beans, rice & lettuce. We called up and shared we ordered a super chicken burrito (gave the order #) and they said to come back and they will have the correct burrito ready. While it was pain to drive back (luckily it’s close), I figured they would of course be extra careful to get the order right- especially as it is an easy order.
Well our bad for not checking that burrito in store (guess that’s what you need to do here). Got home to find they made a regular chicken burrito- no guacamole, cheese etc.
Aside from getting the incorrect order twice- the ingredients were nothing to rave about, all mediocre. Next time will stick with one of the other Mexican spots in Pacifica

Worst fried tacos I’ve ever eaten. Burnt to a crisp, horrible dry filling, no flavor, and they didn’t even take the toothpicks out. Disappointing

Ok, so, I love a good pozole, but I also have some stomach issues that make it so I can’t really process hot spicy food well, so I often can’t find a pozole that works for me and still is deep and rich like I want. Their pozole here is a rare and delicious exception! It’s rich deep broth sings and the hot oil is in the side so I was able to dig in and have an amazing lunch before heading to the beach to chill out for a bit. I’ll be back, often.
I also had their carnitas burrito and it slapped pretty hard too.
That said, the quesadilla was just a bit meh.
