Reviews
Since the owner had commented on a previous review that they offer vegetarian options and also have grilled potatoes, I asked the girl who was serving, if we could have potatoes. She said that it only comes inside the burrito, but they offer mashed potatoes. After asking her multiple times if it has dairy and confirming that it doesn’t , we ordered it. When we got it we tasted cheese and she again went into the kitchen to confirm it. She said although she asked the kitchen multiple times, they said there was no dairy, but they had just checked the packet again and it did contain dairy !
The bowls we had were not that filling, so we also ordered a Chicken fajita to share and that was really good, although it did have a bit too much oil.
The interior is decorated beautifully and it has a lot of seating. The girl who served us was very helpful.
The atmosphere is cute and family style. Staying away from the entry door to reduce cold in winter and heat in summer may be a desired move. The recent addition of cute little “burro” stuffed animals is a good touch. It is good the main dining room is delightful since heading to the “bar” or bathroom is in the adjoining space.
The food is delightful and presents well. I do crave a bit more taste but don’t want a good thing in the 40+ mile area to go down hill.
I haven’t ordered any drinks beyond tea. They had Mexican coke on the specials blackboard last time and some potentially interesting margaritas.
In summary, it is a good bet we will return even after trying other odd Mexican restaurants.
Walking in, the atmosphere is awesome! Little donkeys all over, really great paintings. Plants with chili pepper lights hanging from the ceiling.
The staff was all friendly and quick to help with recommendations on food.
The food!! It was so good!! My daughter wanted a quesadilla, but with shredded pork. Not a problem at all! She even told us after we left, that was the best quesadilla she’s ever had.
The chimichurri steak tacos were phenomenal. My wife got a huge platter of something that looked and tasted excellent.
The margarita flights were delicious, we tried 8 different flavors and while I thought they were a little sweet, they were still very good.
Hopefully they start selling shirts and hoodies too, because I loved them! We got a $5 stuffed donkey for our daughter.
This will definitely be on the return trip list when we’re back in town!!
All in all, i suggest visiting this place if you are in the area. Be warned though, because public parking in this area of town can often be an issue since it is rather limited. (We need a parking garage)
Also, I’ve read other reviews saying it’s bland (not true) and the portion sizes are small for the price and comparing it to Chipotle, don’t compare something made fresh to generic fast food. I’m very picky about my flavors and the guac was amazing!!!!
