A Truly Unforgettable Dining Experience at the EL Gaucho!

We celebrated our anniversary at EL Gaucho, and it was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly host and immediately immersed in the warm atmosphere, complete with live pianist playing beautiful classical and contemporary music that set the tone for a wonderful evening.

Ambiance & Service:
The restaurant was beautifully decorated, and they even covered our table with rose petals, wrote a personalized card, and created a customized menu with our names to make our anniversary celebration memorable!

Food:
Everything we ordered was exquisite:
– *Bone Marrow and Scallops*: The sauce from the scallops perfectly complemented the bone marrow. Our server kindly served it as an appetizer, even though it was listed as a side dish.
– *Salad with Pistachios*: A delightful mix of flavors and textures.
– *King Crab Legs*: Succulent and flavorful, with a delicious butter sauce.
– *Flaming Steak*: Tender, juicy filet mignon with a fun presentation.
– *Crème Brûlée*: Creamy, crunchy sugar coating, and perfectly balanced with fresh coffee and espresso.
– *Sea Bass in Shoyu Sauce*: Melted in your mouth, with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

*Cocktails:*
The mixologist truly outdid themselves! The *Filthy Martini* with a Grey Goose and *Old Fashioned with Woodenville Bourbon* were among the best I’ve ever had. We also enjoyed the *Sparkling Rosé Cremant Brute*, which paired perfectly with rich foods like bone marrow and oysters.

Overall:
El Gaucho exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff is amazing, and becoming a member is a must! If you’re looking for a special occasion spot or just want to treat yourself, look no further. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful evening at one of my favorite restaurants. El Gaucho currently operates several locations across Washington and Oregon. No prices for this since it was a hosted event by a vendor in the industry I work in. Prices can be found on their website.

A dinner for 2 can easily be $200+. Join their Fire & Vine Rewards program and they will give you $75 off a $150 dinner for your birthday and anniversary (not combinable).

We came here for dinner on Christmas Eve, and at first, our experience wasn’t the best. However, after that, Max came over to help us, and everything completely changed.

He made the most amazing dessert, and honestly, he turned our whole evening around. Thanks to him, we felt truly happy and taken care of. Max fixed the situation so professionally and kindly, and he made our night so much better.

We’re leaving with a great impression, and we will definitely come back — just for this experience.

We had the most amazing dinner at El Gaucho! We recently sold two of our commercial properties, represented by the best broker in the world, Brandon Lawler with Berkadia. Brandon hosted a post-closing dinner at El Gaucho to celebrate the sale. The service at El Gaucho was friendly but unobtrusive, allowing us to linger over cocktails, appetizers, main courses, sides and the grand finale, Bananas Foster, complete with showstopping flames! We were elated with the service Brandon provided throughout the sometimes arduous course of our property showings, negotiations, and closing. To the very end, he provided superior service. That being said, it stands to reason that he would also select a first-class location to celebrate the completed sale. Thank you Brandon, Berkadia and El Gaucho for your standard of excellence! With heartfelt sincerity, we are grateful!

We were celebrating my mother’s 69th birthday and had no idea what was in store for her. The restaurant printed out customs menus which said happy birthday and her name on each one. That was an amazing touch. Everyone stopped by to wish her a happy birthday, the restaurant provided free dessert, cheese fruit trays. Our family dines at Ascend often but I think we just found our new favorite restaurant. The food was great, service was in better. You can’t go wrong with this place!

Do NOT go here over the Seattle location, period. I have been going to El Gaucho Portland and Seattle many times over the last two decades, and while I am consistently delighted by the experience at those two locations, THIS location has consistently disappointed and the food quality and service is nowhere near the other two locations.

1). Tables are much more cramped and waiters check on you at a much slower rate than other locations. Expect to spend over 2x as long waiting to place your order, getting bread, water, everything.

2). Ceasar salad is way off. Lettuce is not anywhere near as crispy as it is elsewhere, dressing is way too cheesy and not the same tart flavor at the Seattle location. They didn’t even ask if i wanted pepper.

3). Steak is way off – does not have the signature charred exterior that El Gaucho steaks should have, and the side of asparagus was a joke. Literally could’ve been just steamed.

4). Service is slow and has weird quirks? i.e. they gave us sparkling water but didn’t bring us new cups so we had to chug our tap water to drink the sparkling, or mix in the sparkling with still. Forget asking for new cups since the server won’t be with you for another 10-15 min.

I has one bad experience here 3 years ago (i was abandoned by the server on the balcony multiple times during the dinner and waited 10 minutes to get a fork after receiving my dessert), but this most recent experience settles this as the vastly inferior steak experience. Please go to El Gaucho in Belltown, or at the very least save yourself $200 and get yourself an applebees 2 entree special.

Bonus – parking situation is a joke, no signs for self park (only valet) and we parked in the city garage paying an extra $15.

My wife and I come to El Gaucho alot, and normally the food is spectacular. This time it wasnt that great. We ordered as we always do the table side caesar salad. Again normally spectacular, this time it was under seasoned, and we received all of the stocks of the lettuce and no leaves. Secondly, we normally get the 20 ounce steak for 2 and wanted to try something different so we went with the ribeye. It was burnt and cold at the same time. Glad mt plate was hot because it would have been even worse. Lastly the waitress didnt really talk to us. Took time to get things snd wasnt really ever asked if we needed anything. So all in all was kinda disappointed when we always spend about $500 for just 2 people. I would say it should be amazing every time. I should have said something but my wife doesn’t like it when I do and it was valentines day.

We hosted an 80th surprise birthday party at El Gaucho in Bellevue, and the experience was absolutely exceptional. From start to finish, the staff was wonderful to work with—extremely organized, professional, and accommodating. Planning for a group of 80 people can be challenging, but they executed everything flawlessly. The food was fabulous, the venue was perfect for the occasion, and every detail was handled with care. Our guests were impressed, and the guest of honor felt truly celebrated. I couldn’t recommend El Gaucho Bellevue more highly for a special event.

Dear Management Team,

I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service and reservation handling during our recent visit to your restaurant on Feb 15 to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

We had a confirmed 5:45 PM reservation, yet another party with a 6:30 PM reservation who arrived approximately 40 minutes early was seated before us. Michaela was the host who checked us in. This demonstrated a lack of organization and poor reservation management, which immediately set a negative tone for the evening.

We had also specifically requested an upper booth, which we were not given. What made this more frustrating was noticing that the exact table we had requested remained unoccupied for almost an hour while we were already dining.

Service throughout the evening was extremely slow. My husband’s meal arrived earlier than mine, preventing us from dining together as intended. Additionally, he had to request his beer twice before it was finally delivered. We also experienced delays in basic table service, including having to wait for water refills, which further reflected a lack of attentiveness.

This restaurant was previously one of our favorite dining establishments; however, the quality of service has clearly declined. The experience did not reflect the standard we had come to expect.

Furthermore, the presence of an automatic service gratuity was particularly disappointing given the level of service provided, which did not meet even basic expectations for attentiveness and efficiency.

We chose your restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day, expecting a memorable and special experience. Unfortunately, the lack of organization, slow service, and overall poor execution completely diminished what should have been a meaningful evening for us.

I hope management will take this feedback seriously and address the operational and service issues we experienced, as they significantly impact customer satisfaction and brand reputation.

Sincerely,
Payapa
