Got dinner here for my family last night as I wanted to try this place for the first time.
Absolutely delicious, authentic flavors at this wonderful Mexican restaurant! The owner was super friendly and kind and their tamales were delicious. Tacos: also delicious. Mexican rice: delicious. Beans: delicious.
Even the salsa for the chips was outstanding and clearly fresh and homemade!
Sometimes there are hidden gems in strip malls. This is definitely one of them. Will definitely be back.

Got a Bean cheese add fries and sour cream. Said it in Spanish, said it in English. Still messed up my order. Added rice I guess it’s fine, but it was expensive. Please take the time, it wasn’t busy.
No meat burrito but still the same price as meat . Nice people, polite and all but dang, I said it in Spanish so it won’t get messed up……..

I’ve been visiting this lovely family owned Mexican restaurant for years and always enjoy the food and the service. My main reason for writing now is that Google shows them as closed on Saturdays when they are in-fact open 10:30 to 3:00. The owner confided to me that they have been unable to get Google to update their search result ad. The hours are correct when you look at the full week hours of operation, but the ad that pops up on Google search results says “Closed”. This costs them a lot of business. I hope someone at Google sees this and makes the appropriate edit.

My son in law and I chose El Gallo when we couldn’t find the taco truck he usually goes to. We hit it at lunch time and was really busy but we got a table anyway. I think the lady that a couple of people have mentioned in the reviews sat us down and was okay though didn’t bring us a menu when we asked and instead pointed to the scan code. You could read a bit of an edge to her.
I suspect it was her husband that waited on us and he was super friendly. We ordered the basic combo plates – taco and enchilada with rice and beans. It was very good and the other meals that came out of the kitchen looked good as well. I’m from Texas so I am pretty critical of Tex Mex and I can say with some authority that this was better than a lot of Tex Mex fare… If I come back to Petaluma, I’ll try their birria tacos. I would have ordered that if I had seen it on the phone menu. Would have been nice to have had a real menu.

Shrimp. Burrito regular size 15.00. Was not worth the price. Rice tasted old wak was dark color. Burrito had blan taste was not tasty and over priced.. i asked for pico she refused to give me. Was not impressed

Probably THE BEST pico de gallo EVER! The freshest tomatoes. The husband and wife are very friendly. Business for 13 + years . Extra points for the chef. We drive all the way from Sacramento for this delicious lunch once a month now a new tradition.

We had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant. The food is fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. The Taco Salad we ordered was absolutely perfect. The owners are a lovely and welcoming couple, and their hospitality really made our visit special. The restaurant is clean, well-organized, and offers excellent value for money.
If you’re in the area, we highly recommend stopping by. This is hands down the best Mexican food we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be returning!
