Stopped here last night and let me tell you…it was just as good if not better than it was 30 years ago. I ordered the pastor burrito and it didn’t disappoint at all. Huge and full of flavor. The meat was seasoned perfect and tender. The salsa was extremely good and exactly how I remember. The staff was friendly and very prompt. Got us our chips and salsa fast, took our order fast, and food came out really fast too. 10 out of 10 would recommend you give this place a try.

I was recommended by a coworker to come here and it wasn’t the best choice. The service was great but the food was very greasy and not what I had in mind. I will give them another chance. There’s no music, the quietness is deafening. I think this would be a great late night place to eat when you’re drunk.

Really good service and super fast! Came from the comedy club with some tipsy munchies and they took care of me! Definitely go to them. Very flavorful too!

My brother-in-law has been raving about this place for a while, today I decided to actually try them. I was met with Great and prompt service and the meal that I got. I absolutely love for breakfast chorizo, and egg special. The salsa really did it for me as well as a flavorful rice at some point in the near future I will be back for lunch and or dinner. I highly recommend this place if you have never tried

Let me preface this with a warning, do not mistake this place for other El Gallo locations, this review is specific to the restaurant on 5039 111th St in Alsip as I’ve eaten at the other places and had a much better food experience.

1 Side of Pico De Gallo
The Steak Taco Salad was actually pretty good. They seasoned the steak pretty well and it was really enjoyable to eat. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely not the worst.
What was the worst was the Beef Taco Salad. The ground beef had no taste and the texture reminded me of Tuna. Hard pass on getting this ever again.
The Pico de Gallo was also really off and carried a chemical taste to it. I definitely threw that away after one spoonful.
All in all, I don’t think I’d ever get food here again. Not only was parking hell to find (Thank you Riddles….), but there are at least 15 – 20 other Mexican places within a 3 – 5 square mile radius that serve way better tasting and quality food.

Went inside the store to order some food to go and explain to the woman my order. she proceeded to repeat the wrong meat choice back to me. I clarified which type of meat I was looking to get. Then rang me out for the food only to find out when I received my food that she forgot to add the rice and beans into the order, forcing me to pay twice on card so they can charge me more than when I received my food and proceeded to drive home a 5 minute drive. I got home, took one bite to realize That the rice and beans are cold. I called after to speak to a manager to explain my frustration. I was then told by the manager over the phone, so just come back to the store to return the food and they’ll give me my money back and proceeded to just hang up on me so I went to the store to return my food and get my money back and they proceeded to steal not listen to me. They were blaming me saying that I was the one not ordering correctly when the cashier lady was watching TV distracted, and I had to clarify three times my order for her and still got it wrong. It’s sad because I’ve been coming to this location for many years only for me to really reconsider ever going back again.

I’ve been eating here consistently since 1997. Let me just say, the owners/employees are the same as I remember from over 25 years ago. Always busy, always consistently delicious, great service. No brainer to eat here any chance you get, awesome late night stop after a night out. I love the giant deep fried burrito (chimichanga).

Been coming here for years, always tipped well, and always treated the staff with respect. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill. I called ahead to have them set aside a bowl of menudo. The woman on the phone knew exactly who I was, but insisted I pay over the phone even though I told her I was planning to dine in. When I arrived, she told me there was none left.
It’s clear they don’t appreciate loyal customers, and they no longer deserve my business.

The restaurant was cash only at the time due to a system error, which I completely understand. However, the issue was the attitude. The woman at the register was rude and argumentative. When I suggested that a friendlier explanation or heads-up would have been appreciated, her response was dismissive, telling me to use the ATM or not.
A little kindness in how it was communicated would have gone a long way.

So, I decided to give this place another try. This is one of my boyfriend favorite spots for tacos and burritos. When we first came here last year I had the steak taco dinner. Thumbs down. Steak was not seasoned very bland food was just not tasteful. so, we came here again whole year later and nothing change. Bland steak no seasoning too much cilantro and onion that’s what really what I tasted mostly on my tacos. So never ever again I will be going here with him.
