2023:Absolutely loved this place! The green sauce was so good. I think we had 3 or 4 bowls of it the fajitas came with a lot of meat, and the gordita was can’t wait to go back here.

Very disappointed at their service. Came in and service was pathetic. They are under staffed and crowded with customers. Took 30 minutes for someone to finally ask what we wanted to drink. 20 minutes later and still not drinks, it was really hot inside, a drink would’ve been nice to keep cool while I wait. I remember years ago the restaurant had just opened and place was well kept and is now dirty, flies flying everywhere. Tables are old and broken. Owners need to do a better job taking care of the their business and staff. Definitely lost me as a customer.

FYI – While the sign outside says Taqueria Restaurant El Gallo Del Oro, the place is really Restaurante El Rinconcito Calentano.
Second time here in 3 months. This is really a lovely little Mexican place. The furniture is classic mexican restaurant style, a big upgrade from standard entry level often seen in just getting started restaurants. On the first visit I had some lunch tacos that were very tasty. Can’t remember exactly which ones, but they DO make their own tortillas, both flour AND corn, IN HOUSE. This is a game changer. Today I went with a co-worker and I had the #1 Beef and Chicken Fajitas, with corn tortillas. This also included a small side bowl of charro beans and bacon soup. Everything was full of flavor. Thick pillowy tortillas that I filled with nicely charred beef & chicken fajitas mixed with caramelized onions and green bell peppers. So so so good.
Also they do have three levels of hot sauce, the green is basically pureed jalapeños, the dark red is a wonderful smokey hotness, and the bright red is a robust put some hair on your chest, but full of flavor hot sauce. Pair any of them with the meal or the super crunchy chips and you’re getting your mouth burn on!
Washed this down with a massive lemonade.
On this visit we got quick prompt service. Both of the ladies that took the order, brought the food and rung us up at the register we very sweet nice and helpful.
The menu is HUGE. Everything is reasonably/cheaply priced. Lots of items to make my way though. Will be back.

The food here is really good. Salsas are kind of unique and definitely worth the experience. They have at least three that I know of. The fresh potato chips are really interesting. Again kind of unique. All of the food here is incredibly well done and really tastes quite good. Service was actually really nice too with the person helping me very accommodating. I ended up going to pick this up because GrubHub kind of messed it up! Suddenly they just dropped the order. When I called the restaurant they still had the order and I really felt sorry for them so I went to go pick it up. Really happy I did. Give this place a try.

Spent a few days on Houston with friends and a business partner invited us here. It does not look like much from the outside, but boy are you in for a surprise, the food is truly excellent! I had tacos and again did not expect much, but they were over the top, definitely among the best I had. My wife was also impressed. Kudos!
