I order one taco just to try out the food. I was expecting it to not be good, but it was actually great. Good portion, very tasty. Definitely gonna go back for a full meal.

El forastero on Madison avenue and Watt avenue doesn’t honor other El forastero prices? Ordered sausage and egg breakfast burrito and was charged over $14 dollars steam burrito at other locations are around 11.00 what a ripoff. Unfortunately cashier didn’t give me back exact change? Not pleased with this location recommend other El forasteros locations…

If you truly like this place THINK TWICE AND REVISE YOUR FOOD REALLY WELL before you eat it. My son and I went to this place recently. He ordered tacos and I ordered pozole. They served a small cup of salad (lettuce and sliced radishes) to accompany the pozole soup. I was ready to mix the salad with the soup when I noticed black dots in the radishes. I took the food to the cashier and told him the radishes were rotten. He apologized, then he threw the salad in the trash and told the cook about it. The cook took his time preparing another cup of salad and when I got to the table I noticed the salad had the same rotten radishes but sliced very thin this time so I couldn’t notice (at least that’s what they thought). I took all the food back to the cashier and told him about the black dots in the radishes (for the second time) and told him I was not going to eat that rotten food with bacteria to get me sick. He apologized again but never offered options to fix the problem. I asked to speak to the manager and requested the cashier a refund of my money. He said he was the manager in turn and refunded my money but that’s all he did. I told him it’s not ok trying to fool customers by serving rotten food that can make us sick. They just opened up that place and they are already building a bad reputation and they’re also exposing themselves to potential lawsuits if someone gets sick from eating they messed food. We walked away from that place where we are never coming back again!

I’ve been here a few times and its been hit or miss. This last time, I ordered the Jackie fries and the Cali burrito. The fries were not cooked all the way and the meat tasted bad. I tossed them and opened the burrito. It had no real taste but the salsa i added. Everything tasted burnt. Im very disappointed. The prices for the food is outrageous.I won’t be coming back.

El Forastero Mexican Food is hands down one of the best spots for authentic and flavorful Mexican dishes! The food is always fresh, packed with flavor, and made with quality ingredients. Their tacos are perfectly seasoned, the burritos are loaded and satisfying, and the salsa is the perfect balance of spice and freshness.
The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and quick with service, which makes the experience even better. The portions are generous, and you can tell they take pride in every meal they serve. Whether you’re craving a quick bite or a hearty meal, El Forastero never disappoints.
If you want real, authentic Mexican food that hits the spot every time, this is the place to go!

Ordered a machaca burrito. I usually stop at Adalberto’s a few streets down. Due to street work I stopped at this place. 1st and last time. Food is bad quality and half the size of Adalberto’s. Meat smelled bad and salsas smelled like they were ready to be thrown away. Also burrito was $4 more than Adalberto’s! No wonder every time I pass by this place is empty

We decided to give this restaurant a try since it recently opened. It was my first time trying the restaurant and drive thru. The menu has a lot of options but we can only speak for two items. We ordered the 6 minibirrias for which were good overall a bit pricey for what you get compared to other local Mexican restaurants but decent. We also got the all day special burrito that “comes with” the burrito, rice & beans, and a drink. Unfortunately, I did not get the rice and beans and somehow the shredded beef I ordered for the burrito was missing, I got a meatless burrito. Surprisingly poor attention to detail for a recently opened restaurant. I would recommend other nearby 24/7 Mexican restaurants over El Forastero.

Dine-in once and drive-thru once. Wildly overpriced for mediocre food. The place a mile north would be a better choice. Of course, this was my experience. Go check it out for yourself. Maybe by the time you’re reading this they have gotten better after being open for a while.
