Really authentic Mexican; I ordered a tamale, pastor taco, and rice & beans – all served warm and expertly spiced with side of lime and light cheese. Helpful staff. Line not too bad. Would return next time I’m in SF.

Okay food, not spicy enough and pretty dry, I would have appreciated if they offered some salsa or anything really. Basic counter, no smile, service. Just order, sit and leave. Very ugly restaurant, but that’s not why you would go there anyway.

One of the best taquerias in town. I’ve tried 10+ places and this place is in my top 2.

Excellent Mexican food. Small but hard-working crew, so be patient if the line is long. Best burritos in the city. I don’t know why anyone goes to the chipotle down the street.

El Faro always has good food. It’s busy during lunch time now. The folks that run the restaurant are really nice. It’s nice to have a Mexican option in the area with all the other restaurants that are closed or never reopened.

Super burrito was a flavorless wet mess, and took 15 mins to make. Too slow and disappointing food. If you serve lunch downtown during the week, you have to go much faster than that.

I ordered a chicken super burrito and got maybe 3 small pieces of chicken in the entire burrito. They also forgot to add guac, and the beans were liquid, and immediately came flowing out of the poorly wrapped burrito as soon as I picked it up.

Real recognize real. As a Mexican man, these are true Mexican tacos made by hardworking Mexican folks. Food was good, salsa on point, and, most importantly, on a corn tortilla.

I absolutely love their baby burritos. It’s the perfect size for a lite meal. Try their baby breakfast with chorizo; it’s oozing with deliciousness and no potatoes or rice 🙂

Taco Bell next door? Hard pass. Looking for a better taste? El Faro. Grab a large Jamaica or a delicious Horchata with your dependable quesadillas. Feeling adventurous with the new trends? Go there on the weekend only for some birria tacos that are possibly their most delicious items. Feeling like a philly cheese steak that’s improved or a memory of a state fair cheese steak sandwich? Grab the steak and cheese torta and don’t look back!

From nachos to dinner plates and even a shrimp burrito, you can’t go too wrong here. I’m not necessarily a fan of the steamed tortilla but they’re happy to grill upon request. Nor am I’m usually thrilled about their guac because it’s a little thin for my taste. But I GUARANTEE once you taste their salsa you’ll be hooked. You’ll never look back next door for any fire or diablo sauce. Come grab an extra salsa that’s laced with a hint of habanero and thank me later.

Enjoy a meal made with consistency and don’t be afraid to say hi inside.
