Stopped for the night in Elkin on a road trip from Florida. Saw the reviews on Google and decided to give El Dorado a try. They totally renovated an old pizza parlor and it looks fantastic. Wait staff was very attentive and the manager actually gave us our menus. We had delicious margaritas along with the complimentary chips and salsa. My wife had the Arroz con pollo with a house salad. The salad was very fresh and her main course was excellent. I had the Topo pollo, a grilled chicken cutlet covered with melted cheese, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. My side was refried beans with three small fajita sized tortillas. Very intense flavor with no spicy heat, so if you’re looking for that you’ll need to make a special request. We’ll be coming back this way next year and look forward to another awesome meal!

The service was awesome from the moment we arrived. Our waitress Claudia was very nice and helpful. The number one thing my husband loved is she kept his tea filled without having to be asked. Nachos Supremos was Delicious I’m so was the taco salad but the thing that made the whole meal was our churro cheesecake for dessert.

Food was very tasty, and the service was amazing. I suggest you go feeling hungry because portions are very well served. I had the guacamole, tortilla soup and a michelada.

Amazing place that is right off the highway and easy to access – the high rating speaks for itself as far food and service. Our server was really sweet and always checked in with us. Food was by far the biggest stand out of the whole experience- we got the Buffalo Wings & Guacamole appetizers – Trio de Enchaladas, Tacos al Pastor, Beef Fajitas.
Guac was super fresh – food came out really hot and ready to eat.
Overall ambiance was really nice and quaint and I personally was really in love with the music and seating.
I would say be ready to eat good and have leftovers – out of my experiences with handmade Mexican food and restaurants- this one almost takes the cake.
Recommended for anyone looking for a place to eat good.

Nice family atmosphere! Only complaint is that the bathroom stunk. I think it’s some kinda sewage issue. Guacamole was freshly made and came in a huge bowl which was nice. This place is not stingy with their servings. Their Texas Fajitas were delicious, came with plenty of meat and shrimp! Churro Cheesecake on their menu that is a must try! Also I tried A Coco Loco of their adult beverages which was a small glass of paradise. That place was packed and the staff are super friendly and hard working!

This was our first time here. They still served us, even though they were closed. Their hours have not updated yet. The staff still served us with a smile and great service! This was a party of 6. The food was delicious and very authentic. Nice and clean location, very clean. I definitely recommend.

El Dorado has been on my list of places to visit and I am sorry I haven’t been here sooner! Clean not loud, feels like I am eating at home w family. Wonderful service and meals are served hot and as per photos in menu! I had the Carnitas plate w roja sauce–yes, spicy but it is also flavorful. I will be back again and highly recommend if you are ever driving through or are visiting the Yadkin Valley area of NC: Elkin, Jonesville.
