I was visiting the area and was recommended this place by a local. I’m glad I went, great experience with staff and they were super friendly. I ordered the birria tacos and it was very affordable and good. May come back just for an another order.

One of the best Mexican restaurants you can find.
Jersey heights and Union City have many Latino foods but this one is like a hidden gem.
The woman who runs it was nice and paid attention to what I wanted.
The meal was simply amazing, tasty and good portion.
The presentation also was unique and beautiful. Considering it’s a mix of Mexican, Cuban and Peruvian, they did an outstanding job. All for a great price.
Hint: Order the ceviche.
Will definitely try their other foods next time.

El Delicioso is right by Washington Park in the Heights. I’ve eaten here a few times. This latest time I got the chicken nachos and I think this has been my favorite meal so far. It was a good portion and the chips are homemade. I’ve gotten a burrito before my least favorite and a pork quesadilla. My husband has tried several meat burritos but the meat was too spicy for him, we are babies when it comes to spice. But he got a shrimp burritos with rice and potatoes and loved it. I also got a passion fruit aqua Fresca which hit the spot. There is indoor and outdoor seating which is nice when the weather is nice but people mainly get food to go.

We have always been huge fans of El Delicioso, and often order delivery (especially the quesadillas!) for sharing when we have friends over.
I reached out and asked if they’d consider selling me their meats by the tray—specifically the beef birria and the carnitas—so we could have a taco bar for a party. They were super helpful and responsive, the trays were reasonably priced and it was a generous amount of food. They were such a hit that everyone came back the next night for leftovers—nachos! Can’t recommend El Delicioso enough!

Hands down, the best carne asada nachos! The portion size is generous, and the flavors are on point. The carne asada is perfectly cooked and pairs so well with the cheese and toppings. I always look forward to coming here it’s definitely a go-to spot for me!

ordered fries, beef birria burrito, tiramisu.
i don’t normally write a review but the fries were so bad i can’t believe it. fries smell full of bacon. i can’t describe the smell. it is a bacon that looks like french fries.99.99% of the fires went into the trash.
also the beef birria burrito in not wrapped on paper which made it … get loose. also full of fat. 50% went into the trash.
tiramisu was… not bad. ate it all.
maybe it’s a very good place but the timing was bad as i’ve ordered close to 1:30 AM. it has the capacity to be good but also in this case, very bad.

the mexican quesadillas are insane – get it with birria!! tortas and tacos are also delicious. empanadas are banging. its all amazing. this spot always slaps!!

Omg I never heard of a Birria sandwich before and it was Amazing! Very flavorful. I was not expect the dip although I know it always comes with the tacos. Highly recommend, I ordered mine with mozzarella cheese. The hot sauce was thick and spicy.

Excellent Birria Tacos, and the Chicken Fajita Tacos were great too. Friendy service and clean restaurant. Parking was difficult but not the Restaurant’s fault. Will come back.
