This was my first time trying El Compadre even though I’ve passed it hundreds of times. We went on a whim when my wife had to pick me up from work.
This is a brand new building so the place is nice. It’s not overly colored inside like so many are. We were seated quickly and our drinks were brought right out with chips and salsa.
The chips are a thicker yellow variety but didn’t stand out in any way. The salsa is more cumin heavy than any I’ve had and here but it’s still doesn’t move the salsa needle to great. It wouldn’t be my go to for just chips and salsa.
I wasn’t that hungry so I just ordered the beef enchiladas while my wife went for a combo. Everything was decent but nothing I ate made me want to come back. It all just screamed average fare like so many other Mexican joints around.
I may go back and try and try something in the fajita variety but the Mexican staples were very basic.

The service was quick and there was minimal waiting time. The food was all good. I really liked the choriqueso. The chips and salsa were okay, I really liked the shrimp wrapped in bacon.

Juan, why have you scheduled loud power washing for your business to take place from 10pm-1am? This is the 3rd time. My baby is trying to sleep. Be a better neighbor please.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. It is always our go to. I love anything with their asada. White queso and black beans are very good too. We’ve never had to wait and you receive chips and salsa as soon as you sit. They do have a small patio. Parking lot is tight

Had mixed fajitas.. shrimp, steak, and chicken. Extra charge. Shrimp were tiny and not many of them. Food was plentiful and waitress was polite but didn’t come by much. Charged 6.00 for a glass of tea. Over priced for what you get. Won’t go back.

A family member just moved to this neighborhood so we wanted to try a local restaurant. We were so glad to find this place. All of the staff was so welcoming and friendly. The service was great. We ordered fajita enchiladas, crema enchiladas, and chicken quesadillas. All were excellent and filling. They also bring you a frosty mug with your bottled beer. Highly recommend this place for great Mexican food!

Had lunch today. Taco Bell has better Mexican food. Salsa was bland tortillas were not even warm Carne asada was tough and tasteless. Beans came out of a can. Pico de gallo was crap. When I was ready to order I had to go get the waitress. FOOD IS SHIT HERE.used to be good. Ki’ Mexico is way better for the same price.

Simply the best Ceviche I had in the Shreveport area so far, their seafood is also super fresh and delicious, and the staff and management are so friendly that they will make you feel just like home! Mas Palomas Por Favor!

First time here after they’ve opened the new building.. the queso excellent… staff super friendly… helped navigate the menu .. she has only been hired for 3 weeks if she had a question she quickly called a coworker… I enjoyed the chips and salsa as I watched the costal Carolina game… then the burrito Verde was unexpectedly delicious… my goodness… I added grilled jalapeños for some extra spice… then to top off the visit the churro mini cake … its like a churro but a cake with caramel sauce… lol honestly that’s how it was described… I didn’t know what to expect but my taste buds are thankful… if you’ve not visited you should added it to your list…
