I had a fluffy taco and the Fat Alberto. The fluffy taco was good, different from any other version of taco I’ve tried. The Fat Alberto was like the guts of a taco spread over fried bread, nothing special and I liked it but wouldn’t reorder it. The beans and rice were excellent some of the best I’ve tried. The atmosphere and service were great my only recommendation would be a bit larger bowls for the chips with salsa.

This has to be the worst excuse for a Mexican restaurant. I’ve never gone to a Mexican restaurant where I took one bite and returned the plate without eating anything. It was horrible. The beans were dry and crusty and looked like they had scales on the outside. Tasted like dog food. The rice was oily, chewy, and flavorless. The enchiladas were just puddles of oil from the cheese and the sauce was horrendous. My son ordered a quesadilla and that was just sad. It was two raw tortillas with cheese in the middle that had been microwaved. The prices for the quality of food you get is insane. $20 for that plate of absolute dog crap. The chips looked and tasted like they came out of a bag and the salsa tasted like Elpaso out of a jar. When I go to a Mexican restaurant, I think fresh in-house made chips with fresh in-house made salsa But that’s just me. That was definitely the first red flag. The environment is also super sad. Really dim lighting and built inside/connected to a casino lol. All of the waitresses look like they hated their lives. The only good thing that came out of this dinner trip was that our waitress was super nice, accommodating, and understanding. She comped us for two of our meals and said that we weren’t the first people to say this about the food since the new ownership.

This place has gone downhill! It use to be a really good place to eat, but not so much anymore. I ordered two fluffy tacos and a chili relleno. The tacos were horrible! Way too much salt in the tortilla shells and they weren’t fluffy like the last owners made them. Also the meat waste tasteless and they hardly gave me any hot sauce despite asking for it when I ordered. The relleno was skinny and had more coating on it than anything. I got a tiny bit of beans and rice, kind of like they were rationing it. If this is what the new El Comedor is going to be like, I won’t come back. I moved to Billings and I come to Great Falls a lot. One of the things I do most is go to restaurants here that we don’t get there. One of my favorites use to be the El Comedor, but not so much now. Also no more tamales? It’s not like they are that hard to make. I make them off and on throughout the year. I don’t get why they discontinued them. I was very disappointed with what I paid for.

Our family went here for our son’s birthday. The food was extremely limited and tasted like grade school lunch. They couldn’t take time and refill my water, my wife’s coffee or get the order right. Everything is covered in iceberg lettuce. The “World Famous” Fluffy Taco was lackluster at best.

We couldn’t even finish our meal.

The only redeeming quality was the sweet tortilla at the bottom.

Avoid at all cost.

I ordered the chicken quesadilla, and this is what they brought me. I had to ask the waitress to be certain, but all they did was throw chicken and cheese on a raw tortilla and microwave it. This is supposed to be an authentic Mexican restaurant, but they can’t even make a quesadilla without a microwave?

Well… I would like to think we were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Perhaps, it was due to being there two days before Christmas (yesterday). Did arrive after one and yet the place was packed. So as this was my first time there, I thought it might be a great place to try as it had been recommended several times.

Sadly the staff to customer ratio could not keep up. Then the food came, the less than desirable presentation of the food was anything but appealing. The food tasted like it looked! And in the words of my 5 year old was described as “that was disgusting” and “ that was horrible” during and after the meal.

A day later and she is still talking about this place. Even now just mentioning “ I did not like that restaurant”.

For people in Montana, it’s a recommendation for anyone that has lived anywhere else it is a pure disappointment.

Sadly, when Mexican food comes to mind in Great Falls, I will have to remember to visit the nearest Taco Bell. At least there I will not be surprised.

Place was plenty busy. The service was better than usual. The food was not as good as we expected. It was made a little different than other Mexican restaurants we go to. The refried beans were on the dry side and still had many whole beans in it. My husband didn’t care for it that much. And my husband is Latino. I was surprised that what they called their Chulupa looked very much like a Tostada. The presentation was nice. Their rice is more flavorful than most I have tasted. Their sauce in the bottle was good..it was tangy and had just the right amount of heat. I was surprised when I went to move my plate and it was dirty almost all the way around the rim on the outside.

Traveled to Williams for vacation. Heard about this restaurant and just had to try it. They had live Christmas music tonight, this the season. The food was absolutely amazing! Barbocoa was terrific! Great family atmosphere.

Melissa Reardon and her staff are phenomenal. Food is always fantastic, and the service has always been incredible. We stop in every time we’re in town. It’s never disappointing. It’s always clean and friendly. (Can’t say that about how some customers act) but Melissa handles those people very professionally.

I’m really on the fence. I thought the food was just average, my kid loved it. I didn’t understand the salsa situation. They bring you chips and salsa but there is an additional salsa on the table you can mix to make a spicier salsa. The food is very cumin forward, so expect that flavor. They are known for their puffy tacos so maybe next time I’ll try that. The service was a 10 and our food came out extremely fast. The atmosphere was open and friendly.
