First time and it was delicious!! My husband and I tried a burrito. It was HUGE!!! We split it and still couldn’t eat it all. Only thing is that when we had gone it was called Pulgacito or something like that. Place was great though.

Update: went for breakfast and while the other 2 plates were not very good they menudo was decent. They do over cook their “pandoras” but the taste of the broth is good.
Cute place but not the food for me. Second place I have tacos here in the island and they must be Brownsville type. I am a Reynosa tacos kind of person so if it doesn’t taste like that I don’t like them. I was excited about the potato but it didn’t come with a TON of butter or sour cream so the potato was dry. The chips that came with it were very good as they were extremely crispy.

Chips and Guac were great!!! Guacamole dip was seriously some of the best I have ever had! Also ordered chips and salsa but wasn’t thrilled with the salsa. It was kind of like warm tomato soup? They had a bottle of green salsa that had some heat but it was good too!
Just stopped in for a snack!
I realize it’s South Padre Island and its touristy but it seemed very expensive!!

The enchiladas rojas, chilaquiles, and kids plate had great flavor, with the exception of the lemonade(lemonade tasted like old yellow lemons with artificial flavor added). the pancakes had a good consistency. The guacamole and chips is a really good starter included. The cons about the service is that they don’t provide a receipt with the breakdown of charges… 2 plates of $15, 1 of $17, 2 lemonade, $6 tax =$80 just doesn’t add up. @memerios1020

Everything Excellent. Artwork on walls. Every wall has something. Also a section that has artworks for sale, ceramics, pottery, painted cups, wall ceramic hangings, mosaic artwork, etc. I got a mosaic ceramic sea horse. Not many places have sea horses. So happy to find that one.

Gave it a 4 because it was a tad overpriced. The food, service, and atmosphere were INCREDIBLE!!! I got the quesadilla trying to play it safe. It was good, but not the best option. Coworker got the birria and let me try it. They were THE BEST!!! The rice was also very good! The restaurant itself was sooooooo cute! I loved the little shop. We had a blast eating, hanging out, and taking pictures!!!

Portions are huge, prices are lower than most comparable places, with plenty of different menu options. Food was reasonably prompt and very tasty. However, chilango is a nickname for Mexico City citizens, so I expected cuisine from that area. Most of the menu is from the northern Mexican states. Still very tasty, just not what I had gotten my hopes up about. Definitely recommend. They sell cute, kitschy Mexican mugs and other tchotchkes. Some are nice high quality, so drink your beer and bring home souvenirs. Win win!

I decided to try something new and got the sopes al pastor. It was delicious! The base, fried masa was perfect… crunchy on the outside, soft interior. Among all the flavor , there were little pieces of pineapple. I’d definitely get this again

Food was good and did not take long to make and bring out to the table. Was a little bit pricey but compared to other food places at the island it is comparable. Will definitely be coming back. Also the atmosphere is great.

Plenty of seating with traditional Mexican decor. The birria tacos were very small as seen in the picture. Torta was good and filling. The tostadas were loaded and tasty! The chilaquiles had plenty of meat but needed more sauce. The lemonade was freshly squeezed. Overall, good food.
