I would say it was an ok experience… I ordered what they called an Indian Frybread and it was nothing close to an authentic Frybread made by Native American Indigenous people… I will say the pork, green chili and cheese were about the only thing good about this meal… never ask for a refill only my check which he stated only pay thru my waiter…

This Mexican food restaurant in the Gila Valley is hands down one of the best! Whenever my family is in town, it’s always on our list of must-visit places to eat. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is super friendly, and the management is top notch. Highly recommended!

The food was good, but, the service was definitely lacking. No one asked if we wanted refills on water, or chips and salsa. Although, I don’t live in Safford, I have family that does. So this was not the first time I’ve eaten here. Like I said, food was good, service was not. And it was not busy at all, even for Saturday afternoon.

Was served raw ground beef on the two Indian frybread meals and when told waitress, she said she didn’t know why when they let it set while cooking all day. (Salamenila) when told we started feeling grossed out and sick. Asked to have the two Indian frybread meals removed due to raw meat. She was hesitant… no flavor, food was totally out of the can. Needless to say Chili was good. Chimichangas Enchiladas style tasted like cream of chicken, canned chicken and guacamole was straight from a can. Spanish Rice was good, kids cheese quesadila was good. Will not revisit! However we still left a tip. Globe AZ still has the best Mexican authentic food, along with Mesa AZ!

Complained with the waitess who called the manager to my table. Told the manager the rice was undercooked because it was still hard. Told her the beans were also undercooked and hard. She replied saying since I had eaten some of the chile relleno she would charge me for the chile relleno. Her tone indicated she wasn’t even a tiny bit concerned with my complaint. When I replied saying I would not return her response was “that’s okay!” Guess what? I haven’t returned.

Hadn’t been to El Charro for quite a while so thought we’d try. Didn’t have to wait for a table and we’re immediately brought chips and two different salsa and a cup of bean dip, all good flavor. Service was good but neither of us were very impressed with the food.

I had a great experience as always! Richie and Amber provided excellent service! The bean dip is our favorite while we wait for our food! I ordered the Green Chile little daddy and it’s delicios and HUGE and my hubby ordered the Red Chile shredded beef enchilada meal and he really enjoyed it.

El Charro used to be our go to place with every trip to Safford. The last 3 times we’ve been it just has not been the same. Service was so incredibly slow, food was just ok. Salsa was very plain, no flavor. The burrito on my combination plate was almost smaller than my enchilada. My son’s beans looked like they had been in the warmer for way too long, dried & gross. Had to ask for napkins & silverware. Drinks were automatically brought in to go cups, as is they were out of clean dishes. Workers carrying around the plastic flatware holder around the restaurant passing out silverware. The atmosphere was definitely not the same as it used to be. You could feel how much the restaurant & service has gone downhill. You could sense that the pride of ownership is definitely not there anymore. Unfortunately will probably be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

One of my favorite places to eat! Always good service and food. Love the Indian fry bread, the Sonoran enchiladas are great! Love everything! This last visit I tried their tamale and and it was the best I’ve had in a long time!
