So this is the establishment that replaced Ramones, at the same location in “Sandford”. Albeit an appropriate yet ironic misspelling of the towns name on the menu, since Sanford lake has disappeared and is now literally a sand pit with a ditch of a river where there was once a majestic lake….. but I digress…
The food was “OK”. I miss Ramones interaction with the customers, and his take on Mexican cuisine. The fresh salsa was outstanding, and this is the only place outside of New Mexico that I’ve run into Sopapillas at, in the mid Michigan area.

Very delicious! I got the birria tacos. They came out so quick that I was barely able to make a dent on the chips and salsa, which were also fantastic. The tacos were very juicy and flavorful. The service was just as good as the food. If I didn’t live four hours away, I would make this a regular stop for sure

The kid that helped me was awesome. The food on the other hand is horrible. Can’t cut the chicken breast because it is the texture of leather. Chicken breast. Thin and extremely tough. Inedible.

This was our second visit. Our server was wonderful and so helpful. The food however wasn’t as good this time around. The steak was almost burnt in the beef tacos. And the chicken in my enchilada was dry and flavorless. This place gets very good reviews so hopefully this was just an off day.
