This Mexican restaurant is amazing! The food tastes great and the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the Combo Fajita (steak, chicken, and shrimp) for only $13.50 before tax, and the portion was huge. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the sizzling skillet made it even more appetizing. It also came with rice, beans, guacamole, and tortillas, so it was a complete and filling meal. Definitely worth it, and I’ll be coming back again!

This is the best Mexican food in our area. Even when I am in Knoxville, I want El Cantarito. The chips and salsa are always on point. The staff is kind and efficient. The prices still make my jaw drop after 10 years (way cheaper than most places). They have Coke products and the giant red plastic cups. If I want comfort, I want Cantarito. Is it fancy? No. But it hits all the right spots in all the right ways.

Had a very odd and upsetting encounter tonight. We are regulars at this restaurant and come frequently through the week. We had a friend surprise us by paying for our meal. We asked if we were good to go after finding out that it was paid for, and the server said “tip, if you want to leave a tip.” We were a little taken back, but nonetheless counted our meal up (considering we come multiple times per week and know the price). I approached the register asking if our friends had tipped and everyone gave me an odd answer of “we don’t know”. They grabbed another female server who came over with a very large smirk and said something along the lines of “no, they did not tip”, or “we don’t know what they paid, they said they would pay next time.” But made it clear that the server was not tipped. I was a server for 5 years. I know exactly how a checkout goes, how a manager can review a receipt. It’s not about the few bucks, but it’s about how this place totally lost my respect with the way they acted. The server was clearly new. She didn’t bring a few things we asked for (we didn’t ask again) and could barely answer any of our questions (I was trying a new drink). We asked our friends, and yes, they tipped. We would have tipped regardless, because we loved coming here, but this experience totally lost our trust and I won’t be back.

We found hair in our salsa and understanding that stuff happens we just ordered a new thing of salsa and informed our waiter. Surprisingly no apology or anything. The waiter actually seemed mad when he brought us our new salsa because he slammed our salsa down on the table and just walked off without saying a word. The food took forever to come out and was not good at all. It was all very greasy and soggy. The taco shell completely fell apart when I tried to pick it up. The chicken was so dry it was not edible. I could’ve looked past the hair but then the attitude of our waiter and the absolutely horrible food just killed the whole dinning experience. I would even be willing to give them a pass if they were busy but it was dead on a Monday afternoon. I don’t think I will be returning and I would advise looking at other Mexican restaurants first before choosing this one. I feel like I completely wasted my money by coming here. The only saving grace for this restaurant is the prices. They are very cheap but the food reflects those prices and this is one of those situations where you get what you pay for.

I came in to enjoy some good ole mexican food…. did not get greeted, didn’t get a “hello, how are you” just got a finger pointed at a table while they continued to talk in a big group. Our server was no where to be found after 20 minutes…… we ordered food, and the rice looked old and stale along with the peas looking frozen… The tomatoes still had some kind of crystallization on them and were very mushy and all around low quality. Don’t even get me started on my quesadilla, the meat that was placed on my “steak quesadilla” was mushy and looked like straight up dog food. Was overall very disappointed in service and food quality. I don’t ever leave reviews but, the way I was treated today was the worst experience i’ve had ever. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

If I could give this place a 10 out of 5 I would. We have been here a number of times and it’s always amazing.
Service is prompt and fast. They bring free corn chips and salsa whilst you read the menu.
Servings are massive, we can never finish our meal! They happily provide to go boxes. The food is great quality and delicious! It’s also extremely reasonably priced! They also have lunch specials which are a little cheaper and still way too much food!
My favourite is the chicken fajitas! Also their guacamole is excellent order it as soon as you sit down to have with the corn chips and salsa!
I have nothing but great things to say about this place! If you are in the area and love Mexican food you must try it!

The sign outside says it’s the best Mexican food in town; I can’t completely verify that independently as it’s the only place I’ve tried, but after one meal; I don’t need to try the others. The service was fast, the portions were generous, the food was top quality, and the price was fantastic!

5 of us in went there Dec 19th for my birthday. I later found out my daughter told the waiter it was. He said he’d take care of it. Nothing was done . Not just for my birthday but in general. He didn’t give us the queso we asked for. He forgot my granddaughters food so she had to wait while everyone else ate He didn’t check on us once. No drink refills. We had to catch him to ask for the check and to go boxes because after sitting and waiting for 10 minutes it was obvious he wasn’t paying attention even though he walked past us several times. And he had an attitude when we asked. It was fairly busy but instead of doing the bare minimum he spent most of his time flirting and chatting with a woman a few tables over. We were very disappointed and will not return. And we didn’t leave a tip. He did absolutely nothing to deserve one.

I come in from out of town sometimes and I always make sure to come here before I leave. I really appreciate the big serving you get for a very reasonable price and it’s delicious, I love the cheese sauce. In my experience if you go on a night that’s not super busy you get your food very fast and it’s not even a horrible wait on busy nights.
