El Canastón is such a hidden gem—an unexpected but amazing Turkish and Mexican fusion spot! I had the tacos de canasta and was blown away. The salsa and slaw combo was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick.
We also tried the birria ramon, which was massive and super clean tasting. Honestly, I barely made a dent in it, but it was so worth it.
Tried Turkish coffee for the first time too—wasn’t quite prepared for that experience, but wow, I’m definitely awake now!
Might be the only reason I come to the mall these days. Totally worth it!

Incredibly delicious, they melt cheese on one side of their burritos and have really unique and authentic dishes like Nopal Huaraches. Nice vegetarian options for people like me along with meat options for family members. One of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had in a really surprising location inside of a mall.

Awesome place in the mall food court, the al pastor was so good with the pineapple. Each taco is super loaded and the nachos were more than enough for two people. The turkish delights were good too!

Love the vibe of this cute little corner place; the artisan decor is inspiring. I got the huarache al pastor—YUM! Very authentic flavors. Guy’s got the sazon. The owner is such a nice person; Really cool how he blends Turkish & Mexican culture with the baklava, Turkish delight, and coffee. Coming back next time we’re at the mall!!!:)

Went here today for the first time. I ordered the carnitas burrito and it was delicious! I was surprised to see they sold Turkish treats. I bought an order of Turkish delights and the owner even included an extra piece. Very great service. You can tell the owner really cares about his customers and the quality of his food. Great flavors! Will definitely come again!! 🙂

El Canaston is tucked away at the side entrance of the food court in the mall and we didn’t have high expectations since it’s a mall food court restaurant. This place turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! The Turkish-Mexican fusion was so amazing! And the Turkish and Mexican employees were very sweet! We’re Latinos and weren’t sure how the food would taste but my goodness we were blown away. My Mexican wife (El Paso native) took a mental trip back to her hometown as she bit into the Chicharron Burrito. I was skeptical so I tried it and sure enough, it was bomb! I had the Huarache with Tinga (chicken) and was quite content. It was my first time having Nopal and now I will forever compare this experience with any other. My wife, who’s eaten it plenty of times before, also said it was really good. We recommend both plates! The desserts perfectly completed the Turkish-Mexican cuisine fusion experience! If y’all are looking are looking for great food and awesome employees, check this place out!

An excellent taco shop in the Northridge mall food court. Fantastic, handmade while you wait tortillas..wonderful tacos, sopes, and quesadillas all served with tasty salsas and a smile. Plenty of excellent veggie options and an unusual twist of baklava and Turkish sweets in addition to the more traditional flan and tres leches.
