Early-morning and late-night neighborhood hangout spot favored by chefs, sommeliers, and other hospitality industry professionals. Do you ever wish you had a Mexican friend with a grandmother who would cook for you whenever you came over? Well, now you do, and you’re always invited. The only difference is our grandmother has tattoos and rides a badass Harley Davidson when she isn’t in the kitchen. We apply a similarly aggressive approach to the flavors we use. When you bite into one of our tacos, expect your taste buds to get a donkey punch. The only thing you can do is let your eyeballs roll back in ecstasy, look up at our tin ceiling, and scream, “El Cabron!”

Came here randomly with a group of friends shared the 15 taco combo and a plate of nachos. Exceptional service. Staff is very kind and attentive. Good spot to sit, eat, and chat if they aren’t busy. Would recommend the steak nachos.

This is a special spot. I bring groups here and occasionally come and drink and eat with friends, and we’re always greeted with a big smile, no matter who’s working.
The ambiance is great – colorful and fun but still homey. There’s usually a soccer match on the tv (on mute) and good music and there’s an eclectic mix of customers. Trust-funders, hipsters, restaurant workers, neighborhood families, groups of young Latino men quietly drinking in the corner. You never know who’s gonna be there and no matter who’s here, it’s always a good vibe.
Also, the food is great. My tour guests usually get Tacos al Pastor, but I was there last Saturday for some margaritas with a buddy and they hit me with the Saturday-only Cochinita Pibil tacos which were delicious. I’m also a big fan of the nachos.
The cousins who run El Cabron have always been super welcoming and it’s obviously a labor of love. A lot of craft and care goes into their drinks and their menu and there’s just a down-to-earth feel that isn’t super common in the area any more. Great place to eat and drink.

Perfect find for our Sunday afternoon wandering. The margaritas were fantastic. The food was delicious: guac and pico were super fresh and the chicken quesadilla is exactly what I hoped for.

A little hole in the wall with amazing tacos and great classic margaritas. Prices are decent! 10 tacos $35 and $8 Margaritas during happy hour before 6pm. They just need to clean the bathroom smell smells like cat. Oh, and they definitely need a new chips and guacamole combo.

They served me water in a plastic cup while everyone else had a glass. I’m black so I took that very disrespectful and also they would constantly check up on every table while I had to grab their attention for service. I live in the neighborhood and my girlfriend always wanted to try this spot but that service was trash I’m sorry.
