My wife, after going there for a company event, took me for my first time. Edgar was the same waiter/ bartender that had served her the first time. He is amazing! Super friendly, very knowledgeable, suggesting food that was amazing and serving drinks that were equally as amazing! The place was medium as far as busyness, we went right before dinner rush about 4:30pm. Easy parking, fast service, decent prices. Out of the Hispanic restaurants we have been to around Smithfield THIS one is in the top three! I strongly recommend El Barzon to locals and travelers seeking authentic Hispanic food.

Our new “favorite Restaurant” This was the best Mexican food, And possibly the best meal we’ve been served in NC. There was very little left to bring home for our Pup’s lol. It was just THAT GOOD. I’m brutally honest when I write a review. But, I can’t say anything but good things about El Barzon. From the mixed drinks to the thickness of the taco shells. It was great! We enjoyed a Rum&coke and a Margarita before we ate and I had three beef tacos and we shared her Texan fajita. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. A little more expensive than other restaurants of this type but, Well worth it. If you’re in Smithfield and thinking of Mexican food, This is the place.

Very dirty restaurant. Brenda was our server. No hello – just what is your order? Wanted us to order, pay and get out quickly. She didn’t listen to what we wanted either. Food was terrible. No taste. Would not recommend.

Absolutely amazing!!! Carlos was the best!!! He makes a fabulous pineapple mojitos!! Food was incredible!! I don’t remember what my husband ordered but it was huge and delicious, mine was very good to. We will be back!!
