I had such a wonderful experience at El Barco Restaurant. I ordered the coconut red tilapia with rice, beans, salad, and fried ripe plantains, and every bite was absolutely delicious.
The flavors were rich and comforting, and the plate was beautifully prepared.
The staff was incredibly friendly and patient.
I usually eat only plant based foods, and even though I was in a pinch in a small town and very hungry, they went above and beyond to accommodate my needs.
They removed the shrimp from the dish without hesitation. The cook even came out personally to speak with me to make sure everything would be just right. That level of care really makes a difference.
One of the biggest wins for me is that none of their beans are cooked with pork or lard. That alone deserves a big Woooo hooooo.
The restaurant has plenty of parking, located right behind Burger King, although it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking closely.
The bathrooms were very clean, which is always a plus. They offer a buffet, a full menu, and lunch specials, making it a great spot for any appetite.
Overall, this was a delightful experience, and I’m so glad I stopped by. I’ll definitely return.

This place is new & definitely worth a try. I’ve been twice since they opened and the food/service was great both times. Someone in a previous review said that this place doesn’t have burritos; that’s a lie because that’s what I ordered my first trip (it was great; ate half at the restaurant & the rest the next day). Inside has been redecorated & looks much better than the previous restaurant. Check the menu online before giving this place a try—it’s not a “typical” Mexican restaurant.

Arrived hungry and tired at about 3:30pm and was served by the ever so kind Carlos, and later entertained by his cute cousins J and C. Good was delicious, prices very fair, and atmosphere was awesome because at 3:30pm, not too many people were there. Had a great late lunch, lifted my spirits, filled my tummy, and I left very satisfied.

The portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Authentic Latin food. I’d go out of my way to stop there again.

This is definitely not a Mexican restaurant! The food is not bad to be Central American, I wish they would just promote it as what it really is and that way customers won’t go in there expecting otherwise.

10/10 this place easily earns 5 stars! Restaurant was clean and bright, the server we had was absolutely amazing. She was attentive and had an authentic smile on her face the entire time. Margaritas were great and food was seasoned perfectly! Will definitely be coming back next time we are in the area! Thanks El Barco!

Decided to try El Barco. The food was cold when it came out and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was quick but the waiter barely even spoke to us, the food was not all that bad, you do get a large portion, the atmosphere was just very off.

Thought the old owner just remodeled the place. I called in and got my usual (shrimp tacos) got 12 for me and my coworkers told them I just wanted the tacos. No sides they charged me for the sides as well even tho I stated I just wanted the tacos I was wondering y the price was so high ($59 they add $3 if yu use card that i had to ask about the charge after they swiped my card totally $63) but there was a language barrier. They told me 10 mins which actually took 30. I came from my job that’s y I called in. Even after the food was ready and I was standing at the counter the cashier proceeded to check out everyone that came after me when I was just trying to pay and go. Pissed me b off instantly cause yall already gave me the wrong time frame and I was late going back to work. Food was not good. Didn’t ask for beans and rice but since I paid for it I tasted it. Beans tasted like vinegar. Rice was mid. Tortilla tasted burnt. Shrimp lacked flavor. Nun of my coworkers liked it either. Wont be returning.

Went for the first time; food was bland, no taste, couldn’t purchase beer or margaritas, only 1 choice for a burrito no enchiladas.
Not impressed!
Won’t be back! Not worth the money sadly
Looks like a family run business, I am a big supporter of family run businesses!
