Fajitas were unbelievable! And their fresh salsa is a clear winner! Best sit down restaurant for a reasonably priced meal and great proportions. Fast service and hot piping hot food in a mountain town like Idaho Springs is not a guarantee. They have an incredible one of a kind chile relleno burrito. El Azteca has it right!

We just had a great lunch at Azteca Mexican Restaurant and I was truly impressed. They use an authentic red chili sauce for the enchiladas that is SO de delicious. Everything we tried was so flavorful and very reasonably priced. I’m definitely going back.

We stopped here on our way for an afternoon hike. The staff was attentive. The food was served hot and full of flavor. An excellent alternative to the other restaurants in Idaho Springs. My only criticism would be that the food came out a bit slow. It just gave us more time to eat chips and salsa and canversate.

I had a bean and beef tostada. The meat was so mushy and I could barely tell there was beans on my tostada because they were watery. Then they put some kind of sauce on top which I didn’t care for. My husband had a chicken quesadilla which had plenty of chicken and no cheese! More than likely not be going back to this restaurant.
