What a wonderful little small town restaurant. The chips and salsa were delicious. They make the chips in house so you know they are next level. I had an unsweetened tea that was absolutely delicious. The food was hot and fresh. You can tell they take pride in the food they serve. The restaurant was incredibly clean. Now that my parents live in Hearne, this will definitely become a weekly tradition.

Traveling through and seen the sign for Mary’s El Alamo , Bucket list stop! It’s definitely worth the stop. Absolutely amazing. First time having real Tex mex tacos and refried beans. Super friendly and polite staff.
And the fresh chips served were delicious… Caution the dip with it, was Hella HOT !!
Rated from a Spice tolerance level of a wimp

My Dad grew up in Hearne and we went up to visit the cemetery and to drive around. He told me the places he wanted to visit and Dad wanted to stop here. Nice quaint place and Molly is the sweetest waitress. The food was great. They offer daily specials but I was day off because I wanted the Wednesday special and it was Thursday. I still got the cheese enchiladas with onions and I really enjoyed them. Dad got to meet the daughter of one of his buddies and meeting her made his day. Thank you for that! Dad is turning 92 this month and it was a great day trip for the both of us.

I had the Mary’s special. It was delicious! I didn’t finish it all….. but the enchilada and tamale were so good! Denise was our waitress, and she was so sweet! 10/10!

The food was excellent, most Mexican restaurants salsa is usually bland and taste like tomato sauce. The salsa here was excellent and spicy. The chips are homemade and the waitress told me that everything is homemade and fresh which was correct. I had the cheese enchilada dinner, beans and rice were excellent too. Highly recommend this place!!!! You won’t be disappointed!!

Most of the positive reviews we’ve read are spot on.
Mary’s El Alamo Cafe – since 1972 – serves up classic, no frills, Tex-Mex fare plus downhome comfort food that will stick to your ribs and get you down the road feeling happy.
Our server treated us like long-time locals, even though it was obvious that we were just passing through and most everyone else in the place were repeat visitors.
Next time, we’re going to try the chicken fried steak and no telling what else. Looking forward to it, we will be back.

My order has been taken wrong. I lost count. I repeated it twice. 5 crispy tacos meat and lettuce only.

Really great Tex Mex food. The enchiladas are excellent as well as the tamales and tacos. Had supper with my better half after a long day in the car and we were pleasantly surprised. We have driven through Hearn for years and did not know this place existed until recently.
Service was attentive and excellent, the atmosphere was perfect…not too quiet and very laid back.
