My rainte first walk in and stood by the counter/check out for 10 minutes never greeted by the cashier to busy answering phone than greeting guests.
Was seated at 1:40 Coca-Cola only available in glass here ordered small cheese dip waitress also brought bean dip to try with it. Ordered stake mexico next question as was how I wanted it cooked witch is odd for Mexican restaurant. Food arrived at 1:50. Was hot and top with onions and bell peppers the onions and peppers could be cook a bit more $37.00 in total stake mexico didn’t have any flavor to it not really worth the 37.00 it was also really grease

I would caution anyone eating there. We had the ground beef enchiladas. Which possibly contained a food borne illness. Members of my family got sick shortly after leaving the restaurant. When we spoke to management about it, the owner said he would refund our meal and then he quickly hung up. After waiting till the next business day for the refund to post and seeing that it never did, I called the owner. He became very belligerent and hostile saying that he never told me he would refund me. This isn’t a way to run a business nor how you treat someone. After looking back at past health records they have had several failed inspections where they have left uncovered food out that can grow bacteria, that can make people very sick. These inspection reports are made available to the public.

The taste of the food has definitely improved here since my last visit. Atmosphere has always been great here. The only reason I took a star away for service it’s because one of the orders was supposed to have a chicken enchilada instead of beef and one of the orders was supposed to have flour tortillas with the fajitas instead of corn. But I’m sure these are little details the food was delicious.

Absolutely fantastic! The salsa was excellent. Never had the sweet green salsa before and it was a very pleasant surprise. I got the Burrito Grande and it wasn’t cheap but when it arrived I understood why, the thing was massive! Very generous portion sizes and the food was delicious. Will absolutely come back next time I’m in Hope.

WOW! First things first, Anna is a goddess! Nice as can be as well. She makes me want to keep coming back.

The place was very clean and the food was really good. I had the Burrito Grande and ordered some guacamole. Water and Root beer.

No beer, though. Meal would have been much better with a nice cold beer. If I want to relax and have a beer with dinner, I guess I’ll have to go across the street.

In town for the night and just happened to find this place after the BBQ we tried to go to kind of scared us. Did we luck out. It’s not Tex Mex but a great Mexican food. I had the burrito agaves and it was so good. I am used to the heavier sauces but these were so light and delicious. I am not usually a fan of Mexican rice but this place now has me craving it. Daughter had the enchilada Kristy and the chicken was next level. If you are looking for some great Mexican this is the place to go.

This was some of the best food I have ever had the pleasure of eating! My wife and I were on our way back from the eclipse and decided to come to El Agaves for dinner. This dinner changed us!
When we arrived our server Salvador (I believe his name is) served us hot tortilla chips with salsa, we also ordered a large guacamole. This isn’t your regular store bought guac, this guacamole is made with the love a grandmother has for her grandchildren. It was better than any guacamole we’ve ever had in Mexico!
I ordered the Carnitas with corn tortillas and my wife ordered the Chicken Fajitas with flour tortillas. To begin my Carnitas was the best pork I have ever had. It was so tender. I’ve eaten strawberries less tender than this pork. The rice, beans, pico de gallo was so flavourful. The rice was soft and well seasoned and the beans were smooth and rich.
The corn tortillas smelled fresh and sweet. They remind me of the empanadas I get from my local Latin food market.
My wife’s chicken fajitas were also incredible! The chicken had very subtle seasoning which enhanced the chickens natural flavour and texture. It seems the chicken was cooked over a flame as each piece had perfect colour and texture. As for the pork this was some of the best chicken either of us have had in our lives.
After dinner we ordered churros to go which we haven’t had yet, though from the smell I can imagine they were made by angels in the highest level of heaven.
Before leaving we decided to try the sopapillas. We had never heard of these. We have been missing out. They were soft, fluffy, light and sweet. Served with some agave nectar and whipped cream. It was the perfect way to end the meal!
Our server was quick, attentive, professional, and very personable.
The restaurant’s atmosphere fits perfect with the theme of mexican restaurant. Next time I’m within 100 miles I will eat here. Better yet if you open a restaurant in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada I will eat there every day! (Please come to Ottawa, we have free health care!)
On a more serious note; this was a fantastic experience and the best way to cap off a very long and exciting day!

By the way if my review doesn’t speak highly enough: there was a large table next to us of 20 people half of which were kids and they kept going on and on about how the food was incredible, as they said it was : Bussin’. Which from what I hear means they hold it in quite high regard!

Come to this restaurant, support these fantastic people, enjoy the game changing food. You can thank me later.
