Was seated at 1:40 Coca-Cola only available in glass here ordered small cheese dip waitress also brought bean dip to try with it. Ordered stake mexico next question as was how I wanted it cooked witch is odd for Mexican restaurant. Food arrived at 1:50. Was hot and top with onions and bell peppers the onions and peppers could be cook a bit more $37.00 in total stake mexico didn’t have any flavor to it not really worth the 37.00 it was also really grease
The place was very clean and the food was really good. I had the Burrito Grande and ordered some guacamole. Water and Root beer.
No beer, though. Meal would have been much better with a nice cold beer. If I want to relax and have a beer with dinner, I guess I’ll have to go across the street.
When we arrived our server Salvador (I believe his name is) served us hot tortilla chips with salsa, we also ordered a large guacamole. This isn’t your regular store bought guac, this guacamole is made with the love a grandmother has for her grandchildren. It was better than any guacamole we’ve ever had in Mexico!
I ordered the Carnitas with corn tortillas and my wife ordered the Chicken Fajitas with flour tortillas. To begin my Carnitas was the best pork I have ever had. It was so tender. I’ve eaten strawberries less tender than this pork. The rice, beans, pico de gallo was so flavourful. The rice was soft and well seasoned and the beans were smooth and rich.
The corn tortillas smelled fresh and sweet. They remind me of the empanadas I get from my local Latin food market.
My wife’s chicken fajitas were also incredible! The chicken had very subtle seasoning which enhanced the chickens natural flavour and texture. It seems the chicken was cooked over a flame as each piece had perfect colour and texture. As for the pork this was some of the best chicken either of us have had in our lives.
After dinner we ordered churros to go which we haven’t had yet, though from the smell I can imagine they were made by angels in the highest level of heaven.
Before leaving we decided to try the sopapillas. We had never heard of these. We have been missing out. They were soft, fluffy, light and sweet. Served with some agave nectar and whipped cream. It was the perfect way to end the meal!
Our server was quick, attentive, professional, and very personable.
The restaurant’s atmosphere fits perfect with the theme of mexican restaurant. Next time I’m within 100 miles I will eat here. Better yet if you open a restaurant in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada I will eat there every day! (Please come to Ottawa, we have free health care!)
On a more serious note; this was a fantastic experience and the best way to cap off a very long and exciting day!
By the way if my review doesn’t speak highly enough: there was a large table next to us of 20 people half of which were kids and they kept going on and on about how the food was incredible, as they said it was : Bussin’. Which from what I hear means they hold it in quite high regard!
Come to this restaurant, support these fantastic people, enjoy the game changing food. You can thank me later.
