Small restaurant, but quaint typical Mexican theme decor. Server really didn’t speak English. If I asked about cocktails, she didn’t understand. Efficent service. Food was below par for American Mexican style food. Won’t return.

I used to love el agave I have been to almost every location in Va from Ruckersville to Warrenton and the location in Bealton I noticed the few times I have been they changed the recipe on the salsa and the food doesn’t have much flavor anymore I used to be a regular on a weekly basis. I thought I would try the location in Culpeper just to see if I just been on off days but no it still just taste not authentic the salsa has absolutely no flavor anymore and the food is just flavorless. I feel I’m going to have to find a New Mexican restaurant to go to.

Absolutely the best experience. Not sure why it’s taken us so long to visit. Service was amazing, Dianna was a real gem! Very attentive, the drinks came fast, food was hot and flavors were fresh and amazing! Will definitely come visit again!

Burrito has never been so disappointed by Mexican food in her life. It started badly when the queso came out lukewarm. It continued to escalate when my aros con pollo came out lacking the amount of cheese sauce that is the reason I even get this dish. The chicken was also thin sliced whole breast fillets versus being thinly sliced pieces and mixed with the rice and smothered in queso, which is my preference. For the second time this weekend, we went somewhere and had sad, terrible rice. Have I ever told you how I really don’t like rice? I really don’t, unless it’s really good rice. It was not. Dumpling’s face was the saddest I’ve seen it in ages looking at his burrito that was supposed to be topped with cheese and sour cream, but ended up coming out with no sour cream involved and a spicy enchilada type red sauce, which was not what the menu had indicated. There was such a tiny sprinkle of cheese it might have been the equivalent of five cheese shreds. He literally got up and got the menu back to reread the description he was so disappointed when it came out. We will not be letting Cupcake & Brat pick the places we eat anymore . It was so sad, I could even take pics.

I have been going to el agave for years. In Bealeton and Warrenton the pollo degollado is completely different than the Culpeper’s location. This is not the pollo degollado that is served in other locations. When I called I was told that the chef does things differently here and that I should’ve made a note. How am I supposed to know that? This location seems mismanaged and is an embarrassment to your brand. Bealeton and Warrenton gets it right but Culpeper needs some serious work.

The service is always top notch. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. I enjoy dining where you can have a conversation without screaming and yelling to your dinner or lunch partner. El Agave is always busy but a relaxed and considerate environment of others.

The quesadillas were tasteless, chicken was cubed not shredded, grizzle, rough. Beef quesadilla had hardly any meat and was cubed not shredded, no taste. My friend only ate half of the quesadilla and couldn’t choke down any more. They charged us full price after explaining how bad it was. Had to insist they take half off for the chicken quesadilla. Went away hungry. They were mad at us for complaining. Ridiculous.
