Reviews
A problem I find is when food is quick, it looses it’s soul. Even though the food taste brilliant, it just missing the feeling of love in the food.
Best option for tasty well seasoned and fresh food.
We had a few dim sum dishes as starters, the Bao was amazing !! the BBQ pork fulling just melted in our mouths with a very fluffy bun exterior ++.
The salt and pepper squid was chefs kiss
The Duck spring rolls were sooo good (probably on of the best I’ve had to date from an Asian restaurant) and the hoisin dip just completed the dish
You can’t go wrong with veggie spring rolls
Mains: Overall 9.5/10 the presentation was more elevated style which is always a plus in my books
Friend had Beef Ho fun they didn’t have any fresh ho fun left so they had to change the noodles (they made sure to let us know) non the less 9/10 I errr forgot to take a picture.
I had sweet and sour pork and jasmine rice they generous with the Meat to vegetables ratio it wasn’t too sweet it was DELICIOUS. I was pretty full a third of the way in so we had to take away can’t wait to eat the leftovers .
Drinks: they have a variety of juices, drinks and teas
The chicken is halal so you can have a large sample of the menu. The price is reasonable and portion sizes are great.
The restaurant is very cold during winter times, which ruins the experience. It is like dining outdoors.
They also recently added service charge to the bill, would be ok if not eating in the cold.
Previous reviews naturally set my expectations high. Ekachai is an enchanting experience – right from the friendly service to the nasal nourishing food. The portions are very impressive which is great! Definitely recommend the food in pics. The pad thai seems a hot favourite. The star of the meal was the Thai coffee lon. A nostalgic taste if you had home made coffee.
Do visit with an appetite to not waste food 🙂
In terms of atmosphere the place could do a revamp.
The food is very reasonably priced and makes you feel gallivanting south east Asia in all its glory.
*Update 20 twenty four, I am back for more !
Food tastes just as good!
New pics!
Last week, while eating my Hainanese chicken, I felt what I thought was a small bone in my mouth. After trying to swallow it and realising it felt metallic, I spat it out and discovered it was a staple from a stapler that had somehow ended up in my food.
I was dining with my 2-year-old daughter, and it was honestly frightening to think what could have happened if this had been in her meal instead. This is a serious food-safety issue.
When I informed the staff and showed them the staple, my meal was removed from the bill, but there was very little apology or acknowledgement of how distressing the situation was. What concerned me further was realising that takeaway receipts are stapled right next to the fresh food preparation area, and even after this incident, the practice continued.
I’m not someone who likes to leave negative reviews, but this was a genuinely alarming experience that needs addressing. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews their food safety procedures to ensure this never happens again.
That’s my only feedback really.
