Rustic, bi-level eatery with exposed-wood beams serving upmarket American fare & an ample wine list.

I couldn’t find a way to leave a direct review for the Granbury location, but just wanting to say that our experience was exceptional. For the life I me I can’t remember our waitress name, but a cute girl with braces. She made the whole experience so much more enjoyable due to her positive attitude. Delightful to deal with and very informative during the dining experience. Without her, I’m not sure it wouldn’t have been the same. Hope this finds the correct person. Great restaurant with a staff that goes above and then some!

We made Valentine’s reservations. They had a Valentine’s 3 course meal menu. We got Caesar salads, Chilean seabass, iowa pork chop and creme brulees. The pork chop was like 1.5 or 2 inches thick. Best bone in pork chop I have ever had. The seasoning really made it delicious. They make their own seasoning blends and olive oils in their marketplace for sale. The we have been here twice for special occasions and both times the food was delicious. The food is worth the cost.

Not impressed at all. You have to leave credit card information to make reservations. They don’t tell you that if you cancel they charge you $20 per person and it’s nonnegotiable. So our party decided to go ahead and go. When we got there we had to wait 30 minutes for a table that we made reservations for (under duress). There was no mention or apologies for this, btw.
The food was equally as unimpressive as the initial service. I don’t know if the chefs are actual professionals but the food wasn’t seasoned. It was bland and everything required salt. The only thing I actually like were the green beans. The steaks come charred no matter how you order them and it’s supposed to be a steak house. The portions are small. The cuts of meat are not the ounces you order. They are less. It was like mommy and daddy owned a restaurant, went away for the weekend and let the teenage kids run the place. Texas Roadhouse and or Longhorn Steakhouses beats the food here by far. I mean by far…
The waiter was questionable. He was decent at service but was so fake trying to look high end that I felt more like he was a play actor at a theater.
If you do your research on this place they have an enormous turnover in staff. It appears they can keep staff. They go through chefs and can’t keep kitchen staff.
I wouldn’t eat here again if the dinner was complimentary…

1890 is a true hole-in-the-wall gem, and it’s almost unbelievable that it’s in Granbury—it could easily hold its own in Dallas and absolutely thrive. The food is outstanding and consistently excellent, and the service is top-notch. They have a small shop where you can buy dressings and spice rubs. It’s set in a charming, old-fashioned atmosphere, it’s a perfect spot for a date night, family dinner, or special occasion, as it’s guaranteed to meet expectations. I highly recommend the duck. We gladly make the hour-and-a-half drive whenever we get the chance—it’s just that good.

A lovely establishment right off of the historic Granbury square. Our waitress was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere feels classy. However, for the premium price point I found the food slightly underwhelming. My mashed potatoes were notably dry and served in a rather modest portion. The mac and cheese lacked depth of flavor. If you come here for a special occasion I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all but it could be worth checking out other options depending on your circumstances.

The food was simply incredible – a circus of flavors that all complimented each other. I had the best pork I’ve ever eaten in my lifetime! Truly amazing! The only thing better was our service! Martha was gracious, smart, personal, and made the night absolutely perfect!!!

Delicious pork chop cooked to perfection. Melt in your mouth chops are uncommon. This one was delightful, seasoned perfectly, and well proportioned. This was complemented by friendly service with staff who effortlessly made everyone feel welcome and knew the menu intimately.
Try the signature banana pudding for dessert. Great finish to the meal.

Visited on a Saturday evening with some friends. We started off with the spinach dip, which was good. 3 of the 4 people in the group got steak and all 3 steaks had issues. 2 people got the strip and it came back heavily charred. One of those steaks were mine, I had to basically cut off the top side of the steak to make it edible. Flavor was ok, but I would dare to say I could get a better or equal steak at a chain like Texas Roadhouse.
The other person to get steak ordered bone-in ribeye. They ordered it med rare. The initial cutting appeared to be fine, but they quickly discovered it was basically rare. The manager ended up taking it back and having it cooked correctly. They also offered to comp a drink and appetizer.
All in all, the group left fairly disappointed in the experience and I personally would not go back. If I’m going to spend nearly $50 on a NY strip, I expect it to be cooked correctly, be tender, and have good flavor.

We booked this restaurant as our first meal in Texas after a long drive and it could not have been better. Everyone was so welcoming and the service was attentive throughout our meal. The wine list was impressive and I enjoyed my cocktail which was well-made. You have to start with the Texas Trilogy as an appetizer. All 3 were mouth watering. While my companion’s steak was cooked to his specifications and delicious, I did not regret getting the pan seared duck. It paired perfectly with the grits and the portion was exactly what I wanted after the appetizers. Definitely visit here for a special occasion or date night if you’re in Granbury!
