The other half surprised me with brunch for our anniversary after a work event in the area. This is a hidden gem in LaPorte. With lots of quaint shops and To Do’s in the area. The ambience is relaxing and inviting with indoor and outdoor seating.
The food was great. You could see and taste the intention to quality in the ingredients and presentation.
They had a great selection in drinks from Bellini flights to mimosas and an array of adult beverages. The bathroom was cool and clean, playlist took me down memory lane.
The icing on the cake was the service. Friendly, helpful and professional – all while most importantly “matching vibe”. Not sure this skill can be taught. The waitstaff is top tier, greeting and bantering w/regulars and making new guests feel like regulars. All in all it was a great experience! Would definitely recommend it and would make the trip back.

We discovered this GEM at Taste of the Town 2025 with these amazing bacon wrapped dates and finally made it in for brunch today. The design/decorks chic without being pretentious, a major plus for me. We sat at the bar and had conversations with the staff and Ed’s better half.
Guys, my chorizo omelet hit the spot, my biscuits and gravy were dense and soft, packed with flavor. Bourbon and Tequila aficionados – they have Blantons Gold, Eagle Rare 12, even 1942. I will return soon for the Wild Game burger.

Hands down, this is one of the best restaurants in LaPorte! I come here for both professional meetings and personal time, and every single visit is top-notch. The service is unmatched the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome every time you walk through the door.

Dorothy, my favorite bartender, deserves a special shout-out. She’s not only an incredible bartender but also someone who truly takes care of guests. I once requested a drink I love from another restaurant, and Dorothy didn’t just replicate it she made it even better and added her own touch, which my friends and I absolutely loved.

The owners, Ed and Jodie, are also a huge part of what makes this place special. They’re always present, checking in to ensure everyone is having the best experience possible. You can really tell how much they care about both their customers and the community of LaPorte they support the city in so many ways.

Whether you’re looking for a great meal, an amazing drink, or just a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant is it. Highly recommend!

The food was absolutely delicious, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was great. The owner, Ed, visited our table several times to visit with us. He personally prepared the bourbon flight that we ordered. We will definitely return with friends and family.

Great food at such a cute diner! Tried this place while on vacation and we are so happy we stopped in. The food is extraordinary! The fried green tomatoes were tasty, the shrimp and grits were full of flavor, the crab cake with garlic aoli was delicious, and the shrimp roll was scrumptious!

A Hidden Gem in La Porte!
I stumbled upon Ed’s Bistro, and what a surprise it turned out to be! This hidden little gem in La Porte delivers upscale, five-star food with exceptional service to match. I ordered the wild game burger and truffle fries, absolutely packed with flavor. Every bite was a perfect blend of richness and creativity. The atmosphere was inviting, the staff attentive, and the quality of the food far exceeded expectations. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a unique and delicious dining experience!

Sadly, no photos from our lunch but it’s a very cute atmosphere. The staff was super friendly, but sadly hubby never received the drink he ordered. We began with a take on poutine, melted mozzarella rather than curds-pretty yummy & we appreciated the crisp-ness of the fries under the gravy & cheese. Is it possible to have a tad too much cheese, yes I think it is??? Hubby had a cubano with onion rings, it was decent (not scratch rings, but they were good) and he enjoyed it. I tried the ceasar salad with grilled chicken, I appreciate the fresh lettuce but not the 8 or so fibrous bases I received. The grilled chicken was very over done and there was way too much grated parmesan cheese. We spent $55 plus tip (there was an extra fee to pay with a card rather than cash) and for that I’d have expected fresh shaved cheese, homemade croutons, juicy fresh grilled chicken and house made onion rings. If I’m in the area again I’d give it another try, but I’d stick with a sandwich. Staff was friendly (always kept our water filled) and the atmosphere is great.
