Edo offers a refined and authentic Japanese dining experience in Crans-Montana, with a clear focus on quality ingredients and well-executed dishes. The standout is undoubtedly the A5 Kagoshima wagyu — beautifully marbled, rich, and incredibly tasty, prepared in a way that lets the beef speak for itself.
The sukiyaki is comforting and well balanced, while the tamaki and tempura are done nicely, showing attention to freshness and proper technique. Overall, the food feels genuinely Japanese rather than adapted, which is refreshing to find in a mountain resort.
That said, prices are undeniably on the high side, though it’s hard to fault the restaurant given the quality of ingredients and the setting. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese flavours and are prepared for premium pricing, Edo is a strong 4-star choice in Crans-Montana.

We visited Edo Restaurant Japonais in Bluche and really loved it! The food was super tasty, and the fish was so fresh. We also tried the mochi – highly recommend the matcha flavor. Great service and a nice, relaxed atmosphere

I had a wonderful dining experience with the Edo discovery 4-course set menu. The service was warm and friendly. The views from the terrace overlooking the mountains were magnificent. The food was fresh, delicious and prepared well.

It is clearly a great place. The team is very welcoming and the atmosphere is very friendly. The owner is a nice Japanese lady who took time to great us and enquire about our satisfaction.
They offer a wide of dishes and our guests enjoyed them all.
We gave 4 stars only because dishes are to europeanized and sushi slice are unevenly cut (some were large and short others thin and long).
Anyhow we highly recommend the place wether you are looking to spend some nice familly time or more business related time.
