I recently moved from Long Island and was really missing authentic Italian food—Eatalia at Waterside hit the spot! The chicken cutlets were absolutely perfect—thin, crispy, and full of flavor. The bread was fresh and delicious, just like back home.
My husband got the chicken parm hero and added pepperoni—trust me, you won’t regret it! I got the chicken cutlet sandwich with provolone and prosciutto, and it was amazing.
This place is the real deal and definitely my new go-to for quality Italian in the area!

Arancini are not easy to do well as there are multiple cooking processes required. This one was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a good ratio of meat peas and cheese & bathed in a tasty sauce. I also got the Italian sub, which was pretty tasty. You can tell they’re scratch making their stuff with care & attention to detail.

Eatalia is a must-visit destination for anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure. As a native New Yorker, I’m no stranger to authentic Italian cuisine, but Eatalia truly impressed me. The chicken cutlet sandwich was outstanding, with the cutlet cooked to perfection. The meat arancini, however, stole the show – a rare find in Sarasota, it was cooked just right and tasted delicious, transporting me back to my childhood in New York. The chocolate mousse was the perfect finale. What sets Eatalia apart is their commitment to quality ingredients, including their avoidance of seed oils and exclusive use of 100% beef tallow for frying. They also import bread from New York and feature various imported Italian items. Staff is very friendly, kind and they all had warm and welcoming smiles. With a 10 out of 10 rating, I highly recommend Eatalia. Supporting local small businesses is crucial, and we’re thrilled to promote this exceptional establishment.

updated 08/30/2025- We came back because of how much we loved the food, this time the food was great but we ran into car trouble. We first thought it was the battery and they offered to help us with the jump, unfortunately it wasn’t the that. We had a completely different issue to fix. But they were so helpful and kind and even gave us free beverages because of how hot it was out. I can’t recommend this place enough! Thank you so much to Eatalia! Oh the food, 10/10 again. We will be coming back(and hopefully leaving with no car issues next time).
We found this place through a video on TikTok and decided to try it since it’s pretty local to us. It exceeded our expectations. Between the food, the workers and the imported goods it’s a 10/10. We definitely will be coming back to explore more of the menu! ☺️

Every sandwich I’ve gotten here is fantastic, two highlights are the chicken cutlet and the spicy Italian. Portions are huge, ingredients seem top notch, and the staff are friendly.
The last time I ordered, I asked for no cheese on a sandwich, the staff was attentive enough to call us back and let us know one of the ingredients was prepared with cheese so we could swap out for a different order. Was grateful for that attention to detail. Definitely check out Eatalia!

Wonderful little local spot – great imported products, NY bread, make their own meatballs and sausage. Chicken cutlet sandwich one of the best things I have ever eaten!!! Get it with balsamic glaze instead of mayo for the ultimate experience

The people here are so friendly—staff greet you with genuine warmth and are always happy to share tips or talk about their incredible offerings. They stock an amazing selection of Italian groceries and wines, from authentic pastas and sauces to top-notch cheeses and a fantastic wine lineup, all at really good prices for the quality. I will start by saying I don’t ever leave google reviews, good or bad, but I’ve been going to Eatalia for about 6-8 months now, pretty much a couple times a week. It has been consistently phenomenal food every single time I’ve ever been there. Never once had anything less than perfect, and the customer service is exemplary every time. I’ve had almost everything they sell, including the specials here and there and I’m reminded every time I try something new or an old favorite, that this place is the best thing thats happened to Waterside, possibly Sarasota. I can comfortably say it’s the overall food and service experience you’ll find around.

Stopped in with a friend and got an Italian sub and a Caesar salad with chicken cutlet — both were excellent! Portions were generous, ingredients tasted super fresh, and you could really tell they use quality products. The Caesar was a bit more lemony than expected, but honestly it just made it taste even fresher. The shop itself has lots of authentic Italian items you can buy, which adds to the charm. Staff were friendly and welcoming too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving real Italian flavors!
