Eat Fine Design by Khun Kung is a culinary love letter to Thai flavors with a modern twist—and it’s seriously good. Every dish felt curated, balanced, and full of personality. But let’s talk about the calamari: hands down, some of the best I’ve had in Chicago. Lightly crisped, tender inside, and paired with a dipping sauce that actually made me pause mid-bite to appreciate the moment.

The rest of the meal followed suit—bold flavors, elegant plating, and a vibe that’s both stylish and welcoming.

I was disappointed to see how poorly these turtles are kept at Eat Fine. I want to support local business, but these pet turtles have no space in their enclosures. They need a more ethical habitat than these small plastic boxes. Eat Fine, please consider researching proper enclosures and habitat for your turtle friends.

MUST GO PLACE. So authentic, great food, reasonable price, great service (not sure what ppl are complaining about). We had a reservation and preordered our menu the day before, so everything was well coursed out over a span of 2hrs. Must haves: Chive cakes, Duck red curry, Short rib noodle thing. Soooo good – duck red curry has lycee, grapes, pineapples that surprisingly balance out duck and spice. It was too good that we are planning on going back in 2weeks!!!

Each dish is very flavorful! A lot of spices used and you will have a great variety of fried, curry, and happy carbs! Reservation needed if you want to dine in. Parking on the street is available. I saw many people do takeout.

The food at Eat Fine Design matches some of the very best Thai we’ve ever had!

The Kra Prow Puffs (chicken) were the standout dish and I could eat an entire meal of them! The pastry was hot and flaky and lent itself well to the filling inside. We also shared the Garlic Pork Ribs which were good but our least favorite dish.

My Kra Prow Gai Khai Dao ground chicken dish was full of nuanced flavor and paired well with the fried egg and rice. The green curry had tremendous depth and “mild” still had a good amount of spice. Still thinking about how good the food was!

Heads up this is reservation only. The woman behind the counter was working hard serving the entire dining room while also prepping to go orders.

Can’t wait to stop in again for dinner!

Probably the best Thai food I’ve had in Chicago. We had all vegetable dishes and they were excellent. We had the Impossible Duck curry, which was yummy. There is a large veg menu with faux meat. It would be nice if things were labeled vegan or vegetarian on the menu, though.

Very good atmosphere as they limit the amount of customers they serve every day. It doesn’t get too busy or crowded and the place was good for dating or gathering. Food was good too. The beef pot in broth and spicy noodles (sorry I forgot about the names) were my favorite among the dishes. It could get really spicy so you’d better think and ask twice before you make your order. The coconut dessert was 10 out of 10 for me. I don’t normally eat dessert, but the level of sweetness was just about right with a diversity of texture in mouth.
Parking can be available on the streets but it might take some time to find a spot.

Everything was delicious. My favorite was the drunken noodles. Chive cakes were also very tasty! Dessert was a refreshing end though expensive for what it was at $30…

Service was great and atmosphere lovely. Open late which is a huge plus in a city where everything closes at like 9 pm

One of my new favorite Thai restaurants in Chicago – authentic, menu items you won’t see everywhere, and everything is extremely flavorful. Spice level is legit – even mild has a fair kick to it so plan accordingly. Tons of vegetarian/vegan options or things that can be made with meat substitutes.

Some of their online ordering options might not accurately reflect the menu or timing – in that case would recommend calling for pickup.

As a Thai person myself, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Unique menu with delicious Thai food, this has become my go-to favorite Thai restaurant even for someone who often cooks Thai food at home. It is family run with an energetic and polite waitress who is the daughter and the chef is her mother. Love the homely and peaceful dining room feel.

The food has good flavors with interesting twists and plating to Thai recipes. Definitely made by someone who loves to cook and develop recipes. Not your average Thai restaurant in the States!
