I’ve used Eat Better Meals for years, but the quality has declined recently. My last order included a meal that was covered in mold. Even if I had eaten it on their suggested day—just one day earlier—the amount of mold made it clear the meal was far older than that, likely several days or even weeks past freshness. When I contacted the company, they said it was my fault for not eating it sooner and only offered a replacement meal. Given the condition of the food and the lack of meaningful customer service, I’ve decided to stop ordering and wanted to share this so others are aware.

Buyer beware…
I want to start off my saying that I am always home for the deliveries to ensure that Im refrigerating them right away.
I wanted to like this company SO MUCH because I have an upcoming show and value convenience over everything, but I had issues with every single delivery and it seemed to get worse with each delivery…
On my first order, the roasted potatoes were dry to where you can tell they were made a while ago. I didn’t stress it, as I ordered for macros, and on the next delivery I selected “Premium” instead of my previously selected “Standard” option.
When I received that, the beef in the Fiesta Beef Bowls had the texture of literal rubber. I could not chew it AT ALL. Again, I ordered for macros, so I agreed when they offered to include a different dish in my next meal to sample, and cut my losses on the last two bowls I didn’t eat.
On the third delivery, the rotisserie chicken was “woody”. Again I forced through it.
I ordered for about three weeks, and finally had to give up when the bad broccoli in my last meal delivery got me sick. When I got home from work, I realized that the smell of (I’m sorry) garbage that had been following me around all day and surrounding my office and home fridge was coming from my meals. When I reached out, they apologized and offered replacements for the 3 bowls, but at that point I was done.
They’ve made it clear that they don’t issue refunds, and only offer replacements. Unfortunately, I can’t afford to put my health at risk again so close to the show, so again, I’ll be cutting my losses on those remaining meals.
If you’re considering this company, know that there is no guarantee that what you get will be safe to eat, and the quality is very inconsistent. It defeats the purpose of convenience that is expected from a meal delivery service.

Been getting meals (lunch & dinner) for a month. If you’re exercising, this takes all the work out of worrying about the diet portion of physical fitness. I get the small portions, and as a man find them enough (or my appetite has adjusted). Getting less salt, fat, and sugar in my diet. All their meals are on MyFitnessPal so it’s super easy.

Compared to the meal prep services advertised online such as factor and freshly, the quality from EBM blows it out of the water, the online services are glorified TV dinners whereas EBM is real, authentic wholesome food. Will definitely order again.

So disappointed with the meals from this place. The food is tasteless. We ordered the salmon meal. The fish smelled and tasted terrible. In all the meals with rice it was hard and barely cooked. Couldn’t get it softened even when heating. I had one meal out of 12 that I can say was good. It was the turkey burrito bowl. I will never order from this place again.

I was really happy with this service. The food was good and delivery efficient. This week I unfortunately received some bad shrimp. I was quite understanding about this, and their communication was initially positive. When I updated them to let them know that the second shrimp dish I’d ordered was bad too, the response was that I didn’t eat it on time. The thing is, I couldn’t eat it because it stunk up my apartment before the “eat by” date listed on the package. Being gaslit when a company has clearly made an error is bad form. It’s a shame that they couldn’t assume responsibility. I was more than happy to keep ordering from them despite being served expired shrimp, but their attitude has sealed the deal and that relationship is over. Buyer beware. There are plenty of other meal delivery services in NYC.

so over the past 4 years I would occasionally order from Eat Better Meals. Over the past month or so, I have been very busy with work and personal stuff and unable to do my usual weekly Meal Prepping. SO EAT BETTER MEALS it is. I have been ordering 6-8 meals to fill in gaps. The Meals are portion controlled and Healthy. Some of my favorites are the Rotisserie Chicken for 3 (provides a generous 3 meals or 4 meals) Salmon Burgers are awesome and I really like the dumpling bowl (Pork and Cabbage) and the Chocolate Pancakes are a nice treat once in a while…
Healthy Eating without having to do takeout. You can customize the meals if you have restrictions. I hope they continue to evolve the Menu.

I’v been using EBM for over a year now and it never gets old. They have such a large variety, and are always coming out with new meals. I have tried numerous different meal prep services on the island, and although this might be pricier, the quality is well worth it. They actually have a decent portion of veggies with their meals and its the one company where I can heat up a meal that has broccoli and no one gets mad at me. Their quality is unmatched by any company I have found. I have met the owners, the chef, and even toured the kitchen…I’ve been in a few commercial kitchen’s and it’s the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen. I am so happy I found this company and I recommend them to all my clients as well as friends and family.

Our first order from Eat Better Meals was very impressive. Well packaged and delivery right on time! We enjoyed the variety of meals. We took the Four Day plan, Lunch & Dinner, Large portion. We just added a toss salad to our meals and the portions were enough to share. The meals were well seasoned and not too salty! We do not have a microwave, so we heated the meals on the stove top or in the oven for about 15 minutes. The only meal we did not like was the Chicken Chili, it was more like a “rice bowl”. But other than that I would recommend and look forward to trying more meals!!
