If you’re looking for a place in Augusta where you can truly unwind, Easy Street Lounge is it.
From the moment you walk in, there’s zero pretense — just good energy, good music, and genuinely good people. Britt behind the bar is an absolute gem. She’s attentive, welcoming, and somehow makes the whole place feel like you’ve been coming there for years — even if it’s only your first or second visit.
There’s a small pool table that keeps things lively, great music playing without overwhelming the conversation, and a back deck that I can only imagine is electric in the summer. Honestly, if it’s this good in the winter, I can’t wait to see what it’s like when the warm weather hits.
What really stands out, though, is the crowd. It’s one of the most inclusive, relaxed atmospheres I’ve experienced. No one cares about your age, your background, or your preferences. Everyone’s just there to relax, laugh, and enjoy themselves. That kind of vibe is rare — and Easy Street nails it.
I’ve only been twice so far, but both times I left thinking the same thing: this place is special.
Highly recommend if you want real people, real conversation, and a genuinely good night out in Augusta.

I love this place. It’s the only place I feel comfortable at as a person of color hope I can meet some friends here. I live in China Maine, so it’s a little hard. Looking for a nice trans friend.
If I can I love the bartenders? I love the atmosphere. I’d love to hear Everybody do karaoke. I just wish there were more djs, so people could dance bartenders. Make the best drinks I’ve ever had. Seriously? I will continue to support this place always

Rude staff. Waited for over 30 mins for a pool table and they wouldn’t allow us to play over an hour before closing because of “last call”. We also asked for an exchange of quarters and the bartender/staff rudely said “no” because he was “annoyed at the other customers”. This is completely unacceptable and for this place to have a 4.6 review doesn’t make sense.

I may be biased, but this is my favorite spot in Hallowell! The bartenders are so beautiful and attentive, playlists are fire! The karaoke and live music is unmatched!

Update: almost 3 years later, this place is epic, especially on karaoke night.
We made Josh aware we were new to the area, and bar, and he was just the sweetest.
He made us feel very welcome. Great vibe here. The patrons were very friendly and had a blast.

The best bar in the greater Hallowell/Augusta/Gardiner area. Super chill, live music a lot of the time, daily updates on social media, reliably closes at 1am, good vibes all around.
You can even gather friends to meet here and play table games (cards, dominos, board games). Drinks are cheap and good. Everyone feels welcome. Never and bad vibes. Just chill and fun, exactly what you want in a local bar lounge.
Hands down my favorite night-time hangout.
And bonus, this place isn’t going anywhere! It survived being completely flooded nearly to the ceiling during the recent flooding of the Kennebec river. Place is a gem. Hope it stays around for a long time. The greater area needs more places like this.

After 8P you can’t enter through Water street, and parking is very limited on Front St. The bartender was excellent and they had a good variety of drink choices. I don’t believe they serve food(?), I didn’t see any menu. The atmosphere is quirky with a low key, relaxed vibe. The layout was confusing, with very little traffic flow. It had a large couch area only 2-3 people could enjoy at a time. 3 tables could easily have been added instead, opening up the back area where a pool table is hidden. They had a live band & some cleared space to dance, but no one really did. The band was ok, not good but trying. Someone should have told them turning up the sound doesn’t make you better… it just amplifies the bad. The band also basically told people to leave, so we did! They have a nice outside area with good lighting, in case you vape, smoke, or are waiting on a ride.

Our friends and I have always loved the fun atmosphere and welcoming community at Easy Street. It is one of the only bars that we would feel comfortable dressing up and going to without a whole group of people. The drinks are great and the events held here are fun. Many great memories originated here and I highly recommend!
