I recently visited Eastside Grill and Pub in Canandaigua, New York, and had an amazing dining experience! The Boom Boom Shrimp were absolutely delicious, and the Chicken Parmesan was perfectly made. The flavors were spot on, and the quality of the food was impressive. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night with two other friends. Ordered the fish fry along with my friend, and the other ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Prices are relatively cheap, and everything was cooked very well. The waitresses and host were incredibly kind and respectful throughout the meal and we are definitely going to return to this place as often as we can.

Great service with delicious food. Don’t miss this cozy little restaurant. Live music on Thursday’s and outdoor seating in the summer.

Three of us dined before a concert. We enjoyed the Mussels Eastside as an appetizer. Two pasta dishes cooked perfectly and a burger rounded out our evening. Staff was friendly and efficient. Prices were very affordable. Live music playing outside which made for very nice ambiance. Can’t wait to come back.

Ordered the crab cakes… menu said they were lump crab -Maryland blue… what I received was stuffing cakes with barely any taste. I did not eat any of it other than a taste or two -trying to find actual crab. I let my server know -she brought it back to the kitchen. I was charged the full price! In hindsight I should have asked to speak to the management. This was our 4th time and sadly the food has always been sub par. I really wanted to love this place it’s literally 1/2 mile away. -but ino can do.

We stopped in for an early dinner and had a variety of salads, seafood, wings and sides. The service was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere had some easy listening music and the beers on tap looked yummy. Great little bar and grill.

Absolutely Disappointed – Long-Time Customers Let Down

As someone who has worked in the service industry for years as both a waitress and bartender, I never leave negative reviews lightly. My family and I have supported Eastside Bar and Grill since the day they opened. We’ve overlooked inconsistent service and food quality in the past because we genuinely wanted to see a local business succeed.

Unfortunately, our visit on July 5, 2025, was the final straw—and a glaring example of how little they now care about their patrons.

Here’s what we experienced:

My husband was brought the wrong beer. Not a huge deal—but still a basic error.

The $16 calamari came with only 4 tiny pieces, buried in a pile of lettuce and olives. It was essentially a dressed-up salad.

My husband’s Reuben sandwich had virtually no meat and was supposed to come with house chips. Instead, he got a small bag of Lays.

I ordered fish, which came with 9 bones—one of which hooked in my throat.

My daughter’s $17 mussels came with a hard, butt-end piece of stale bread she literally couldn’t bite into.

When we politely addressed these issues, the waitress had an attitude. We asked to speak to the manager, who told us:
“We’ll comp some of your shit, but if you don’t like our service, go somewhere else.”
Four other tables overheard and got up and left. We all met in the parking lot and they couldn’t believe how we were treated and wouldn’t stand for it either as they said their service was awful and another table said they were sitting to be addressed for over 30min.

I’ve since heard rumors that the place is shutting down and being sold. It shows. All I can say is: Good riddance. It’s a shame it came to this, but customers deserve better and you should be ashamed.

He took $20 off our $110 bill.

My family and I loved our experience here. The food was yummy and fresh! My husband and I had a shrimp taco boom boom style and grilled, and both were delicious. He loved his Reuben Herrera! Our kids enjoyed their meals as well. My tuna melt was a little dry but still tasty. The atmosphere was beachy and cozy, and our server was so nice and very attentive. We will be back!
