I went here with a friend not quite knowing what to expect. It’s a pretty no-frills sort of place, but the staff was friendly and service was quick. I got the original gyro combo with fries and a drink. They have a cooler with an extensive selection of drinks to choose from, so that was cool. The fries were plentiful and tasty, but the gyro was the star of the show. It was packed full of meat, veggies, cheese and sauce, and it was sublime. It had a great balance of flavors, and was extremely filling. I think I’d probably recommend going with the sandwich alone unless you’re very hungry. This place definitely feels like something of a hidden gem in GR, and I’ll definitely be back.

Best gyros I’ve ever had! Their gyros have great flavor. The meat is tender and is perfectly seasoned. The pita is soft and not too thick. The service is great! They take care of you well! Highly recommend this place!

Huge burger that was delicious. Rough around the edges, but extremely pleasant and everything went well.
– Double Cheeseburger – $16 (including tax for the basket): Huge and delicious. Probably a double quarter pounder sized burger. The burger patties were higher quality, a little thin, but very wide, and grilled perfectly. They were a touch on the lean side. It had a hardy grill flavor like it was charcoal grilled, though it was a flat top grill.
It was wide enough to accommodate everything on the burger very well. It was still messy with ketchup, mustard, and mayo. The other toppings were fresh.
– Fries (comes with the basket): Thick cut and many are long. Very filling. They tasted good and stayed very hot. However, they needed more salt, though. The ketchup was good, but a bit on a plain and fruity side with little or no seasoning.
Everything was made to order including the fries and so it was super fresh and hot!
They had an assortment of pops including Pepsi products.
– Service: Extremely pleasant and helpful. I was in line, but my order was taken while in line so that it was ready when I got there. When asking for napkins, I was jokingly answered with, “$10?” They have a great sense of humor and did give me a stack of napkins for free.
– Atmosphere: 17 chairs spread out to 4 two people tables, 2 four people tables inside. There are two patio tables with glass surfaces and 4 chairs for each table outside. The surroundings are definitely rough around the edges, but the tables and main eating area are clean and brightly lit. If they remodeled or relocated to a nice building, this place would be a bright star for burgers!
– Conclusion: I would definitely recommend their burger. While it is not the best burger in Grand Rapids, it is a runner up for sure.

I ordered a steak Philly, with no peppers add mayo. I got MAYBE 4 pieces of steak, HELLA onions no extra cheese, no mayo and warm lettuce and tomato. I tried to eat it by i could not. No flavor no nothing.

Eastern deli has the best gyros in town and whole lotta other good stuff but the gyro is the best hands down and it’s not even close. In food industry consistency is key and to say that I have been going to this place 10 plus years that’s consistent. Food is more than filling I always end up in a food coma after visiting here tremendously tasty. What do I say about this Eastern Deli? Well, OMG, you’re looking for a hole in the wall with some of the best food you’ve ever tasted? This is the place to go. I ordered up a Philly cheese stake sub with all the fixings Absolutely the best one I’ve ever had. They don’t skimp on the toppings. The double cheeseburger absolutely, amazing top notch.

My girlfriend and I have been trying new places trying to support small business and have been VERY let down the past 2 times. I guess they’re right when they say the 3rd times a charm! We both got the Philly steak subs and they were delicious ! Even the fries were good. They were actually CRISPY and salted not soggy mush. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning to try other things (if I can manage to not get the Philly Steak sub again. This place is a hidden gem. Great food and friendly customer service. If you’re reading this you should try it out.

So freaking good. They do NOT skimp on the meat; great food at reasonable prices. We ordered a classic gyro and a gyro salad (great option for Keto and low carb folks). I was a bit worried my salad wouldn’t have enough meat or dressing, but it was PERFECTION. I highly recommend and we will return for sure! The environment was clean and the gentlemen behind the counter were fast and friendly -and dare I say very attractive, haha.
