One of the best Banh Mi we have ever had! Bread is crispy and pork was nicely marinated, juicy and filling of flavor. Food was amazing and we would definitely be back for the sandwich. But wish that something can be done for temperature. It was absolutely freezing and we had to go out to grab our jackets and beanies. Everyone had on winter gear. If the building does not warm up quickly, will be nice to have space heaters to make the dining experience more pleasant.

The food was excellent—truly five‑star quality. My overall rating, however, is three stars because the dining area needed more attention. The floor was noticeably sticky, several surfaces were dusty, and even my Coca‑Cola can felt slightly greasy. With a thorough cleaning and consistent daily upkeep, this location would easily be a five‑star experience.

I had a great little lunch at East Side Banh Mi. The chicken bowl was absolutely delicious, and a great combination of veggies, peanuts, chicken and sauce. I also got rolls that were a little bit on the dry side. The sauce was really thick, and I wish it was a thinner consistency.

Delicious fast casual restaurant in East! I was in the mood for a sandwich and East Side Banh Mi did not disappoint. Their bread is freshly made in house. It is delicious—soft on the inside and has a very nice crunch on the outside. We ordered the chicken variation of the sandwiches. Lastly I had their seasonal limeade. It was a nice atmosphere on the inside. They also have bowls if you aren’t feeling a sandwich.

You must go this restaurant for tasteful Bánh mi in Nashville. I ordered lemon chicken and veggies. These had plenty of coriander and pickled vegetables. I also ordered rice milk and it was like almond milk. I felt healthy and I like it. The atmosphere of the restaurant is tropical-style and clean.

Great flavor, great service and cozy interior for a quick bite to eat! 4 stars on food because the bread was hard and hurt my mouth. Next time I will get a salad instead.

Embarking on a culinary journey at East Side Banh Mi was a flavorful adventure that exceeded expectations. The excellence of the food, particularly the sandwiches, resonated with freshness that showcased a commitment to quality. The staff’s friendliness and helpfulness in providing recommendations heightened the overall dining experience, ensuring a personalized touch.
A standout in the menu was the spring rolls with peanut sauce—an extraordinary rendition that elevated the dish to new heights. The peanut sauce, in particular, stood out as a star, surpassing the ordinary and adding a layer of richness to the already impressive spring rolls. The sweet potatoes were a delightful surprise, showcasing a level of excellence that extended beyond the expected.
The sandwiches, featuring bread that was not only fresh but also incredibly delicious, stood as a testament to the attention to detail in crafting each dish. Exploring the bowls, one with tofu and rice, and the other with beef and noodles, both proved to be excellent choices. The sauces accompanying the bowls added a burst of tastiness that enhanced the overall flavors.
In summary, East Side Banh Mi is undeniably awesome—a culinary haven where excellent food, welcoming staff, and unique flavors converge to create a dining experience worth savoring. It’s a place that transcends the ordinary, leaving a lasting impression on those seeking a delicious and memorable meal.

If I could eat here for lunch every day, I would. Love the noodle bowls (my favorite is the chopped steak), spring rolls, and don’t miss the chocolate chip cookies!

I am Vietnamese-American, and I’ve had my fair share of real-deal banh mi in my life from many cities around the US. They do NOT make authentic banh mi here. And they do not care. And I do not care either!! But, what I do care about is that they make absolutely delicious food!! And, it’s close enough to banh mi to call it banh mi. Everyone there is super nice. The prices are reasonable, especially for being in East Nashville. The chicken banh mi is PHENOMENAL, and so is their iced coffee. I do wish their bread is a bit softer and tighter-crumbed instead of airy with a thick, crunchy crust because it kinda hurts to bite into, but it’s still a really high quality bread. Authenticity be damned, this place is legit!!
