This is a wonderful spot. Early bird is a tremendous name, because here the early bird definitely does get the worm. Which is a good parking spot i took my wife and oldest daughter out and had an excellent time. We got as an appetizer, chicken and waffles entree. It included homemade honey mustard sauce which was unbelievable.
I got the special which was shrimp and grits with black and chicken. My daughter got the patty melt and my wife got an omelet and all of them were excellent.
I wouldn’t only recommend this place, I would say if you haven’t gone here, You’re missing an unbelievable meal. Sorry, no photos. It all went down quickly.

Been here many times. The last several times the food and service have both been subpar. Had hoped it was just an off day, but just seems to be consistent now. Our waiter went to all the tables behind us multiple times over us. Even if we asked for something he would still go to one or two other tables before coming to ours. Was seated today without silverware for a long time and when we asked for it he still took forever. Asked for a refill on tea and almost choked on pancakes before he brought it. Pancakes had a hair in them that I found right after I paid and was going to say something when he brought the to-go drink for me…which 10 minutes later I left because we never got it. Biscuits and gravy tasted like onions and left a horrible after taste. The prices on the menu are not comparable for the food you get at other breakfast places like Metro diner. 2 pieces of bacon are $4.25 which is an absolute rip-off when you can get an entire breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon and toast for around $12 at Metro for the price of just a couple of eggs, grits and toast for the same price with nowhere near the amount of food. A spot we used to really enjoy has now turned into somewhere we won’t return to.

Nice little breakfast joint. I had the egg breakfast with sourdough bread. My husband had the everything biscuit with fried green tomatoes. We both enjoyed our breakfasts. Small parking lot.

Good diner spot. Chicken and waffle was great. Home fries were seasoned really well. Definitely get some of the pepper gravy! We were lucky and didn’t have to wait, but I can see where they fill up quick! Oh and the Humble Hot Sauce on the table was amazing!

Good food, good service. My wife’s bacon was superbly done and my own everything biscuit was deeelicious! Fried green tomatoes were outstanding.

Came highly recommend and I am glad I came here!
The chicken and waffle were amazing! You don’t even need strup as the honey mustard sauce is sweet enough and goes perfect with each bite of waffle and fried chicken. Also, tried the corn cakes benedict with their grits, and let me tell you that those grits are by themselves worth the visit. I will definitely be back again!

Great place to go if you love excellent diner food and big portions (which I do)! My son got three pancakes and they were each the size of the plate…he barely ate half – took the rest to go. The biscuits are scratch made and excellent. I also recommend the homemade sausage which is crispy on the outside and super flavorful. Our waitress was super busy, but she hustled well and did a fantastic job. Parking can be tricky, but we made it with a full size Transit van.

We stopped in here for brunch while we were in Charleston. It was a restaurant Guy visited so we wanted to try it. The service was great. Parking is a little tuff as the place was busy. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I had the early morning burger. It tasted good but I don’t think I would get it with egg again. My wife had the chicken and waffles. She said hers was delicious. With tip the bill was $50. We would definitely stop in to eat again.

Out if all the places we’ve eaten in Charleston all week, this place was the best. Better grits than I’ve had at many fancy restaurants!! Super buttery and seasoned but simple. Shrimp were moist and not overcooked. Pecan crust on the chicken was good, big portion of white meat and a big waffle at a good price. Nice low noise level, comfy little booths (they don’t look comfy but they are really ergonomic!!), and a fantastic chill server. I’ve never had someone make a waffle so well??? I don’t know who’s back there in the kitchen but I bet breakfast at their house is bomb. I’ve never had a cinnamon waffle batter and it was a huge surprise. It tasted like if Cinnamon Toast Crunch was homemade and made with real ingredients, and had the tiniest bit of crisp on the waffle. And the biscuit was fluffier which I usually don’t like but it was amazing. Everything was so simple and great. 10/10 y’all, we’ll be back! Stay unpretentious
