First time having Bahamian food. Absolutely LOVED it. The plate was about $25. The batter in the shrimp and conch was seasoned really well but not too much to overpower the flavor of the seafood. Our plate came with rice and beans and we chose potato salad and Mac n cheese. All of it was good but the potato salad–SO GOOD. It was fresh, not too spicy to dominate the other flavors but had enough of a kick. It was so good we took a side of it for home.

The cashier was also super nice and friendly. If I ever come back to Florida I’ll make sure to return here

My siblings and I stopped in during a quick road trip. We are Bahamian natives deeply embedded in the food service industry both stateside and in the Bahamas. That said I am aware can be a bit overly critical of places, but Glen’s Bahamian Kitchen hit the mark with customer service and food quality. It was a beautiful meal. The sous was seasoned to perfection with a warm fresh slice of Johnny cake that made my heart warm. A small piece of home made my day for sure.

Food is good. I had the crack conch with French fries which was $24.00. Do I think it’s worth $24.00? No, especially when it’s more fries than conch. Under the conch was a plate of fries. I believe they stated this is the dinner plate.

Ordered 2 boiled fish and Grits meals and Johnny cake. Costs almost $60 took over 30 minutes to make…and actually came without grits, because they had no grits. This should have been communicated up front, and we would have gone somewhere else. They are not very good at communicating or customer service.

Will not be going back…ever!

It is the House or Souse but unfortunately most of the souse is only available on Saturdays. We were told that they will probably not have sheep tongue souse again at least not for some time. They offer a few drink options. There weren’t any desserts. Either way we ordered two fried pork chop entrees. 1st with potato salad and mac & cheese. 2nd with cole slaw and potato salad. The food was okay, just wasn’t worth the drive. It is take out only so we couldn’t enjoy the food right away. I might visit again to try the souse.

Destiny was amazing. She greeted us as we entered and was patient with us as we were ordering. All of the staff we encountered, friendly and courteous. We ordered the chicken and fries. My second favorite spot that is not in the Bahamas. If you are ever in town, check them out.

The food is authentic, delicious and fresh. This restaurant’s food is in the top 3 of best Bahamian food I’ve eaten from a restaurant. The conch burger is the absolute best. My Sunday dinner is the snapper fillet or fingers….. it’s a must have. It’s seasoned and fried golden brown, peas n rice, coleslaw and macaroni. If you miss goombay soda or sky juice they have it also. For those who miss steam hotdogs or sausage with yellow grits….they gat it. Try DWIKEYS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

I’m from the Bahamas . This is a Bahamian restaurant and they’re carrying on with the same stuff in South Florida no consistency. No meals are available when they should be no proper food…..foolishness don’t waste time on this place.

I recently had the DISPLEASURE of visiting Dwinkey’s Bahamian Restaurant this past weekend. I’ve passed it many times before and finally decided to stop in on Sunday morning.

Upon entering, I saw THREE staff members in clear view. Not one acknowledged my arrival they continued their personal conversations, followed by silence and aimless walking back and forth. Eventually, I broke the ice with a “Good morning,” which was met with a faint, unenthusiastic response. I decided to order chicken souse and Johnny cake. When I tried to ask a few questions about the menu, I was ignored until I repeated myself THREE times, only to receive another faint and unhelpful answer.

The food came out quickly, but it was lackluster even for such a simple dish. As someone of Bahamian descent, I take pride in supporting my national restaurants. However, support is not synonymous with tolerating RUDENESS or ENTITLEMENT. I will not be returning, and I caution others to visit with TEMPERED expectations. It’s truly disappointing when restaurants that depend on the support of their own community treat patrons so POORLY especially when the food is MEDIOCRE at best.
