The Carne Guisada lunch special was delicious! We were camping at Potters Creek COE and we wanted a nice home cooked meal without cooking and the Carne Guisada plate hit the spot. Friendly place that’s very affordable with great service. It’s rare to go out to eat for 2 people and the check is under $30.

Great place. Feels like you’re home. CHILAQUILES was amazing. Also had the Brisket Plate. It was super tender and great flavor. Will definitely be be back. Looking forward to trying more food. This is a must visit.

This was our first visit here. Everyone working here is extremely friendly. Any questions you have are answered directly. We’re looking forward to going back there in the near future and trying some other things listed on their menu. It’s truly “Home Cooking” food and it is definitely divine!!

I don’t give many 5 star ratings. My wife and I travel around Texas in our RV. We love those down home eating establishments where the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the food is prepared with a personal touch. CHey and Sylvia, a husband and wife team run the place. She is a true foodie. Like the sign in the kitchen says, “A messy kitchen is a happy kitchen and my kitchen is delicious”. Try the tortilla soup! My tongue danced a happy dance as I tasted the broth, and we all know the broth makes the soup. Warm, flavorful, full body delight of deliciousness. If you are anywhere near Canyon lake TX take this place in for lunch. They are only open for lunch Tuesday through Friday and bring cash. You won’t be disappointed.
