The donuts were a bit stale and disappointing. Definitely not worth the extra money. We’ll stick with the Walmart bakery from now on.
Original review:
Dunkin’ Donuts only recently opened in the Douglas AZ Walmart Supercenter, taking over the space vacated by Burger King. Today was the first time my husband and I had been to the Supercenter together since Dunkin’ Donuts opened, and after a 3-hour shopping trip, we were looking forward to treating ourselves to a donut.
IIRC, there was only one other party in the store when we entered, and they were already seated. My husband went to the display case, while I stayed at the entrance with the carts. After a brief interaction across the store to decide what to get, my husband — who is 6 ft tall — turned his attention to the lone employee.
The employee was dealing with some stuff behind the counter, so my husband politely waited until the employee turned their attention to him. And waited…and waited…while the employee started unloading baskets of donuts into the case.
An older lady who had entered Dunkin’ Donuts a minute or two after us (long enough for the employee to have been able to notice that my husband had approached the case first) approached the cash register, and shortly afterwards another customer approached behind her. The employee stopped what he was doing and went to the cash register, never once even acknowledging my husband’s existence — and my husband is kind of hard to miss.
My husband turned and started walking back to me. We didn’t need to discuss it. One look and we were in complete agreement. We walked.
We won’t be bothering to take our custom there again. We’ll continue to get our donuts from the Walmart bakery — where we can get a lot more for a lot less, anyway.
I rarely give bad reviews, trying always to look for positives, but this took the cake. (Pardon the pun.) I cannot recommend this Dunkin’ Donuts store.
