I’m writing this review on behalf of my husband after what happened at the 3300 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, RI Dunkin location. My husband has been a loyal Dunkin customer for years, and he has always felt comfortable here — until yesterday.
When he ordered his drink, the employee Jill repeated his order back to him in a mocking tone and exaggerated his accent while laughing. Another staff member heard it and didn’t step in or correct her. My husband walked out of the store embarrassed and hurt, and that is something that has stayed with him even after leaving.
Mocking someone’s accent is not a joke — it is racism. It is humiliating and demeaning, and it made my husband feel like he didn’t belong. No one should be treated that way because of the way they speak or where they come from.
Dunkin is a brand that claims to value community, respect, and diversity, but what happened here goes against everything Dunkin says it stands for. My husband should be able to order a cup of coffee without being made fun of for his background.
I hope management takes this complaint seriously. No customer should be humiliated for their accent, and if this isn’t addressed, others will go through the same treatment.
Tonight it’s been a few months since I have been and I gave it another chance. I’m in a rush and I ordered the most simple thing ever, and I got this. I also specifically asked for granulated and I had it repeated back to me correctly, then got nothing???

Unbelievable and unacceptable. I know it’s the end of the day so it got watered down out of laziness too. Very disappointed.
I have been a loyal Dunkin’ customer for years and have always appreciated the brand’s welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, this incident goes directly against those values and reflects negatively on Dunkin’s reputation. No customer should ever feel discriminated against or ridiculed because of their background, identity, or accent.
What I experienced was racial and cultural discrimination, and it has genuinely affected me on a personal level. I believe actions have consequences, and I kindly request that this complaint be taken seriously and that appropriate steps be taken to ensure this does not happen again — to me or to anyone else.
