John and Ruth Duncan opened Duncan’s Dairy Bar on May 19, 1939, in the same location it stands today. Initially a seasonal ice cream stand, the menu expanded around 1955 to include sandwiches, breakfast, and dinner items to satisfy college students craving home-cooked meals. Now owned by their grandson, John, and family, not much has changed in over 86 years. John continues to bake early each morning, using recipes passed down from his grandmother. Duncan’s still makes all its breads, muffins, donuts, and pies from scratch, using recipes from The Keller Baking Company, owned by Mrs. Duncan’s family in the early 1900s.

Reviews
We ordered fairly quickly and enjoyed our time catching up…until the time kept passing with no food in sight. All told, it took almost an hour to get served.
When the items did arrive, it was pretty disappointing. Eggs were scrambled but had zero flavor, toast was overcooked, and the corned beef hash I had requested well done looked like it had been briefly left to cook a few seconds longer on one side, so that most of it was still mushy. Pancake was fine, but nothing special.
Although it had taken an hour to get our food, the check arrived within 10 minutes. We went from having no one checking in for an hour to 5 different staff members stopping by one right after another “to see if we needed anything” (more likely to free up a table).
Finally, the handwritten check was very difficult to figure out and nothing seemed to add up right. At this point we were ready to go, so we paid and left.
Overall, a disappointing experience and not one I would recommend to others.
It doesn’t seem equipped to handle delivery on top of in house service
Edit in response: I do understand a lot of what you said and honestly I do hope the best for you and your business going forward. Especially if this isn’t the regular. If I ever deliver there again and have a better experience I will reflect it in an updated review. If you really want clarification to some of the comments, I felt tones of annoyance and confusion for asking for orders. And had multiple looks thrown my way for waiting around. Along with seeing and hearing some people who were ignored by staff and then staff being chatty and friendly to other guest. I get that could just be due to a busy atmosphere but It really came off as regulars are treated well, everyone else not so much. On the last order I picked up from there when I was offered coffee it was after I had been there for 10 minutes. Before arriving I had to drive over 20 minutes to get there and to arrive after the order was Marked ready to pick up and then having to wait another 15/20 minutes made it seemed orders aren’t started until drivers arrive. Which looks bad on us, for example, I had to fight with customer service on my end to get a late rating removed from this which enough of those can lead to many bad things on our end. I make reviews like this in hope business will adjust behavior that effect drivers who already have little to no protection. From delivery services we’re looked at as expendable and we’re looked at as even less and even as a burden from many restaurants, stores and their employees. Again I do wish you the best and I hope this is the regular experience other drivers experience.
