Dumpling Xi is such a gem near the NYU campus. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The dumplings were perfectly wrapped with juicy fillings, and the noodles had that amazing handmade texture you don’t find everywhere. Portions are generous, prices are super reasonable for the area, and the food comes out fast without feeling rushed.
The space is casual and welcoming, making it perfect for a quick bite between classes or a relaxed meal with friends. If you’re anywhere near NYU and craving authentic, comforting dumplings, this spot is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back. ✨

Fresh handmade dumplings in Manhattan. The zucchini, egg, and shrimp dumplings were my favorite — super light, juicy, and didn’t stick together at all. You can tell they’re freshly wrapped.
We also had the beef with fungus and the spicy & sour fish pot. Big portion, lots of veggies, and very comforting. Solid spot if you want real dumplings and warm, satisfying food.

Dumpling Xi is a famous Chinese Dumpling restaurant known for its freshness and flavor. All of their dumplings are made fresh and in-house, which you can see as you wait. The wait is not long, served within minutes of ordering!
Similar to its Flushing location, there is a self-serving sauce station. You can customize your own dipping sauce using a combination of soy sauce, vinegar, spicy chili oil, or garlic.
Their fried dumplings are closer to pan-fried gyoza than fried dumplings themselves. That said, it was only the style of cooking that was different to me. The flavor was still juicy and flavorful!
Nonetheless, I do think the price is a bit on the high end. I understand that it reflects the quality and service if the dumplings, although I do wish it was a bit lower at a reasonable price.

Stopped by Dumpling Xi 喜家德水饺 for a quick bite and had a great experience. We were seated right away and told to scan the QR code on the table to order, which I actually loved. Ordering from your phone was super convenient, and the menu includes photos of each dish so you know exactly what you’re getting.
We ordered the shrimp, chives, and egg dumplings, which tasted very fresh—especially the chives. We also tried the shrimp, fish roe, and pork dumplings, and those were my favorite. The piping of the fish roe added a really nice, subtle fishy flavor (in a good way).
I also got their kumquat & lemon specialty drink. It definitely looked more appealing in the photo than what I received, but it still tasted good and very fresh.

I don’t even like dumplings.
This place has amazing dumplings. I didn’t even know I could like them this much. Fresh al dente skin with fresh ingredients. Both steamed and pan fried varieties are off the hook.
The other items are good as well. Casual spot – sit down, but order off a QR code.

Came here for a quick meal before some plans, and the service was efficient with food coming out quickly. The setup is simple, with sauces being self-serve, which is convenient and allows you to adjust flavors to your liking. That said, compared to the Flushing location, the same issues were still present.
My boyfriend and I ordered the shrimp, fish roe, and pork dumplings for $14.99 for 12 pieces. While the dumplings are freshly wrapped every morning and clearly made with care, the portions are small and the pricing feels high. At about $1.30 per dumpling, it’s hard to justify the cost when there are many other dumpling spots that offer similar or better quality at a lower price. The flavor itself was good the fillings were juicy and well seasoned but for me, the value just isn’t there.

The dumplings are impeccable. All the dumplings that my group ordered were really good. They were all fresh, hot, and well seasoned. The neck bone hot pot was also amazing. However, the service took so long. We had to wait around 30 min for one dumpling dish to come out, and after that we wanted to cancel an order because it was taking too long, to which they simply said “one more minute.” Then we proceeded to wait ten more minutes before the dumplings came out, not one minute as promised.
So don’t go here if you’re in a rush or if you are very hungry because you will be waiting for your food for a very long time, at least for dumpling standards. (Because typically, when I order food at dumpling restaurants, they take 10-15 min.)

Food was very fresh and good. We especially enjoyed the Beef and Fungus side dish. The picing was reasonable, place qas clean, staff was very nice and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Also, I would absolutely recommend their Lychee Apple Rose specialty tea, it was delicious!

I’m surprised there’s not more people. The dumplings are well priced (for nyc) and fresh. Especially the vegetable dumplings which were a surprising highlight for me.
Ordering was easy on the phone and the server was quick and polite.
I do wish there was more meat in the beef dumplings, it felt under-filled.
My meal cost around 28$ (9.5$ for 6 steamed vegetable dumplings, 9$ for 6 fried beef dumplings, 4$ for Walovi, 2$ nyc tax(?), 3.7$ for tip). I will return!
