I had a fantastic experience at Dumpling World on North Lamar! The food was well-cooked, and the service was both prompt and warm, which made for a great atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being lively and full of people, we were seated immediately with no wait.
The Food:
Spicy Tofu Dumpling: This was the absolute star of the show. It was incredibly juicy, tender, and the flavor profile was outstanding. Even if you aren’t typically a tofu fan, this is a must-try!
Chicken & Corn Dumpling: These were very good and fresh, though we personally preferred the punchy flavor of the Spicy Tofu ones.
Chicken Fried Chowmein: A total comfort dish. It wasn’t dry at all—it was juicy, savory, and exactly what you want from a fried noodle dish.
Pro Tip: Don’t skip their chilli oil; it adds a perfect kick to everything on the table.
Overall, the combination of great ambience and high-quality food makes this a spot I’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

We came for lunch and were so impressed! We ordered the two vegetarian steamed dumpling options. One was packed with chives and tasted fresh and amazing. Very well seasoned. The other was a meat alternative that was heavier and spicy. Also very very good. In addition we ordered their peanut noodle dry dish. The flavors were strong and the noodles had excellent texture. Overall a really amazing and tasty dish.

The ube taro drink was also pretty good.

We will definitely be back! I appreciate their many vegetarian options and we have even more to try!

The food is absolutely delicious! Tried three different types of dumplings. I will have to say that the bok choy mushroom steamed dumplings are amazing! The wood ear salad was delicious, as well as the cucumber passionflower salad. Hope to go back again and try the green bean dumplings as well as many others.

I heard rave reviews about this place but was disappointed with my experience here. Nothing we tried really stood out. The soup dumplings were large and juicy but lacked flavor. The spicy braised beef noodle soup was also underwhelming. The green beans had good flavor but were undercooked. The fried rice was a bit bland.

The service was friendly and somewhat attentive. The atmosphere is pretty casual. Parking was hard to find.

The food was delicious, and the servers were incredibly helpful and attentive. They really went above and beyond to assist me in making my decision. I particularly enjoyed my steamed bun. The portion of chow mien was generous, and I had enough for lunch the next day!

There is parking at the triangle and also a garage with limited spots.

It was also a good atmosphere for me to get some work done.

My only regret is that there aren’t more dumplings available at a place called Dumpling World.

I stopped in for a solo lunch on a random Tuesday. Around 2:30, the place was empty, but not for long. Within 20 minutes, it almost filled up again.

The team member who took my order was super kind and made some suggestions, and I’m glad I went with it.

I got their Spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup and pan-fried Beef and Onion dumplings. The dumplings were super juicy, and the filling-to-wrapper ratio was on point.

But the real hero was the noodle soup. I’ve actually had all the noodle soups in that area, including the Chinatown Plaza. And I’d say this one is exceptionally generous for the price. The flavour was delicious. I’m a big chilli oil person, and this soup did not need anything. It was not as spicy as it was flavourful. And I didn’t need to add anything else to it, which speaks volumes in my book.

Sooo it was yummy, lol! The service was quick and the waitresses were friendly. The wood ear mushroom salad was delicious (it’s served cold). We also had the pork and scallion thumb buns as well as the pork soup buns. Everything came out hot and fresh (except the salad) and I would definitely recommend!

I have lived in Austin for 6 years and it’s rare to find Asian food this good, and this place honestly exceeded my expectations. I tried the beef noodle soup, garlic green beans, and the spicy beef and sour dumplings- everything was so flavorful and delicious. The only minor downside is the small parking lot, but the food easily makes up for it!

Spicy Wonton soups was spicy and full of flavor, soup dumplings were fried and yummy. I love this because with soup dumplings they tend to get hard sitting there and these were fried which really makes them taste good. The chowmein was really good better than most as the noodle was a little thicker not gummy full of flavor.
