This was the first of many visits for me. The place was jam-packed and for good reason. The service was excellent. Staff was super friendly, prompt, and attentive without hovering.
The beers were served ice cold, just as they should be!
This place has an incredible menu with so much variety. Making up my mind was a challenge, but that just means I have to keep coming back.
I ordered the smokehouse bbq pork tacos for an appetizer. These things were piled high and bursting with flavor. The wonton shell was chrisy and really putting in the work. The pulled pork was piping hot and overflowing with flavor! All topped with the most delicious, creamy coleslaw.
For the main course I ordered the “Smokehouse Burger” (notice a theme) which was stacked high with fresh ingredients. The buns were so soft id think they baked them that day. The patty was lean and full of rich flavor. These mountain of a burger was topped with pulled pork, cheese, and onion rings. Then dripping in very tasty bbq sauce. 11/10.
For a side I went with their sour cream and chive potato wedges. They were absolutely perfect. Ripping hot, super charged with flavor, and not even greasy in the slightest.
All around this was the best experience I’ve had in a long time. I hope the owner sees this because they gained a new regular. Definitely worth the 40 minute drive and definitely on the radar. I can’t wait to return and see what else this tiny kitchen has to offer.

Look, every small town bar on here has reviews from their locals talks about how they have good food and friendly service. As someone whose hobby is stopping and eating at small-town bars all over west central MN I have to say that Dumont is among the very best out there, #1 in my book by far. I live 90 minutes away and believe me when I say it’s worth the trip.

Very humble and intelligent woman, she’s is a rare one for sure!
I didn’t get to try the food, I only ordered a wine. They only sell the small 1 serving wines, that you would expect to buy at on the airplane. It would be amazing to see some MN local wines to really personalize this adorable place.

Drove out of our way from Alexandria to South Dakota to visit this little gem. Menu has many options and they aced making my burger as I ordered it, medium rare. Rare indeed, as a nice supper club I go to can’t figure out how to make my burger medium rare. Really fast and good food.

Great small town bar! They offer a good selection of liquor and beers. I noticed copper mugs for a more authentic Moscow Mule experience. Walked in and was greeted with a hi! What can I get for you. Nice bar, tables and chairs around if you want to sit and eat. I’ll be stopping again!

This place far exceeded my expectations. I’ve been talking about it for 3 days. My family of 12 showed up and they accommodated us kindly for starters. But the food blew me away. They have like 6 varieties of potatoes including curly fries and all the sandwiches and burgers came out in impressive size and delivered with no shortness of flavor. They have poutine!! And red pepper cheese curds for God’s sake. And fried pickles, and Cuban’s, and… I think we may have gotten everything in the menu. My bunch of loud city folks didn’t talk for the first 10 mins outside of moans and groans and to wipe their chins. I personally thanked the cook. Muy impressed. And then we sat outside in the patio for an hour listening to the jukebox, drinking a beer and arm wrestling.
Needless to say, it was my favorite location and food stop in our 4 days’ travels. We’ll be back.
