The truly awful part of my latest visit was the service. The waiter had NO idea what he was doing. He missed part of the order and forgot about our drinks. Most of the evening he was MIA, and never cleared the table before bringing the next dishes or the bill.
I really enjoyed the cocktail menu, and the burger and fried rice were both excellent. If you’re in downtown Baltimore and want something a bit fancy, you should definitely check this place out.
Portions were a little small, but we didn’t mind. The prices, I think, while high for the area, were below what we’ve seen in other cities for high quality French cuisine, so I have no doubt the restaurant has close margins here.
Service was quite attentive.
All in all, I recommend coming here. Maybe not the place if you’re starving and just want to stuff your face ; instead, you’ll enjoy dishes that make you feel like it’s fine dining. Our subtotal was around $100 for two people with three appetizers, an entree, and two desserts. Not bad at all for a date night!
This was absolutely magical. The food was delicious and the wait staff was very kind and attentive. I would recommend treating it like small plates and only getting the appetizers because the cost of the entrees to the quality wasn’t great. The small plates are where this place shines.
They were great with identifying foods with my allergens and brought out champagne for us after dinner to celebrate our special event!
Will definitely be going back.
For apps we had the Beef Tartare and the French Onion Soup with Duck Confit. All delicious.
For dinner I had the Steak Frites Au Poivre, which come with fries cooked in duck fat. The steak was perfectly cooked and deliciously tender for a sirloin. The fries were perfection as well.
Others in my party had the duck bucatini as their main course- which is a thin spaghetti pasta with a rich duck ragout tomato sauce. That was very good but it would have needed to be larger for my main, but the ladies were happy with it for theirs. Having a side of black truffle mac and cheese for the table to share also helped.
Overall, it was a very good meal. Next time I will definitely try some of the more expensive dishes on the menu- which I steered away from on this occasion dining with friends.
Great location in the heart of Fells Point. Nice ambiance -the outside back patio was quiet and felt like we were inside. They have tables out front but those would have been pretty loud in Fells on a Saturday.
Service was just OK. Our server must have had several inside tables as she was not around much for drink refills and water.
I would not hesitate to recommend DDG for a date night or dinner out with friends.
