Great atmosphere and service, food just shy of five stars.

I really enjoyed my visit to Driftwood Cafe. The interior design is fantastic—warm, cozy, and full of character. The humorous and clever joke signs throughout the restaurant are a great touch and definitely add to the overall charm and personality of the place. It’s a fun environment and makes the experience feel relaxed and welcoming.

The service was also very nice. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable, even though the restaurant was busy.

The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the food quality. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t quite reach the level I’d expect for a five-star experience. Solid and enjoyable, just not outstanding.

Overall, a great spot with awesome vibes, good service, and a fun atmosphere. I’d definitely come back and would recommend it—especially if you value ambiance as much as the food.

This restaurant serves typical American cuisine. The food was great and not over seasoned with salt even the chilli. The portion was very generous and delicious and you definitely won’t be disappointed for the price that you pay for the food in this restaurant located in the middle of a tourist town. The restaurant itself is not very big so do expect to wait during busy time. However, the food and the service are well worth the wait. There are only two restrooms for both all genders so you might even see a line there as well. All in all, an awesome restaurant!

Great vibe. Classic American breakfast with a lot of style. Simple, affordable and with overall good food. I loved the mocha and eggs Benedict combo. My wife didn’t like French toast that much, more like dry bread and just a bit with sugar. Not the best. But overall, great experience and strongly recommend the eggs Benedict.

Parking lot across the street. We arrived relatively early on a Sunday (8am), no waiting time. Good service.

This place seems more hype than any actual charm. The coffee is mediocre at best and the menu was ok without much variety. The service staff really does not care for anyone but their regulars. It took them a full 30 minutes to get to me. The younger members of the staff seem self occupied and act like they are overwhelmed when the eatery is 3/4th full.

Had a fantastic breakfast at Driftwood Cafe in South Lake Tahoe! The food was absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite.

While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and the friendly, efficient service made it worth it. The cozy atmosphere and mountain-town charm added to the overall great experience.

If you’re looking for a solid breakfast spot in South Lake Tahoe, Driftwood Cafe is definitely worth a visit!

American breakfast and lunch with some Mexican inspired dishes too. We thought our food was too bland for our liking, took longer than expected and was lukewarm when served.

I’m giving it 3 stars solely for the excellent service given by our waiter. He was very kind and attentive making sure we had water and coffee constantly while also helping us out with things we requested.

The ambiance is your typical diner//café making it welcoming and cozy.

I visited this brunch spot in the morning. They offer both classic American breakfast dishes and some Mexican-inspired options, which I really liked. Overall, it was a good experience, but I ordered the biscuit and gravy, and unfortunately both biscuits had completely burnt bottoms. I could only eat the fluffy tops, the rest was not edible.

On the bright side, the service was excellent—very quick and friendly even though the place was busy at peak time. I understand mistakes can happen when it’s crowded, but two big burnt biscuits were hard to tolerate. Still, I think the food has great potential because the flavors were good, and if not burnt, this dish would have been delicious.

I’ll give it 3 stars. I’d still recommend the restaurant, just hoping my experience was a one-off.

The restaurant is small and often very busy. I advise to make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, expect to wait over 30 minutes. The portions are large, enough for one person or even to share. The food tasted alright and the hot chocolate was delicious.

We discovered this gem while searching for the top-rated restaurants in South Lake Tahoe. situated in the prime area of Heavenly Village and is always bustling with crowds, so we had to wait nearly 45 minutes for a table. However, it was well worth it – this is one of the best cafes we’ve ever dined at. Our server was fantastic, patiently addressing our requests and questions while providing detailed explanations. He even offered my son complimentary whipped cream as he was into the whipping cream in our Irish Coffee. We started with the Driftwood Chiller, Irish Cream Coffee, and a Screwdriver, and the Irish Cream Coffee was definitely the standout. I highly recommend it, although everything we tried was delicious. The Eggs Benedict was excellent and generously portioned, and the mashed potato pancakes were perfectly made, I couldn’t stop eating them. Ugly fries are must have, loaded and heavy. We finished with the Grilled Chicken Melt, which was a bit bland compared to the other dishes, wish we had it earlier than others. Overall, we had a wonderful lunch. If you’re in South Lake Tahoe, be sure to check it out!

Stopped by for lunch. One of the more affordable options in the area. The club sandwich was tasty and filling and I liked their options for choice of side. Outdoor area was dog friendly and the wait staff brought over water for the doggy too. Want to come back and try the breakfast options next time
