We had the pleasure of dining at Drew’s Bayshore Bistro in Keyport during their special Valentine’s Day event, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic — perfect for a holiday dinner — and the service was warm and attentive from start to finish. This is also a BYOB restaurant.

We enjoyed a four-course meal, and every single dish was a standout. Some of the highlights included the incredibly flavorful pulled pork mac and cheese, packed with smoky richness and creamy perfection, and the jumbo Cajun shrimp, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right.

For the entrées, the French onion pork was a total surprise — tender and savory with that classic, comforting French onion flavor. The braised beef was equally impressive, melt-in-your-mouth tender and deeply flavorful.

And then came dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing night. The beignets were served hot and fresh, with chocolate and caramel sauces for dipping — absolutely heavenly. The chocolate tart was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making it feel extra special for the occasion.

Overall, Drew’s Bistro delivered an incredible dining experience that felt both upscale and heartfelt. The food, the ambiance, and the little Valentine’s Day touches made it a night to remember. We’ll definitely be back!

We have dined at Drew’s a bunch of times over the years and it never disappoints. It has been some time since we were there last, and overall a great dining experience. The Shrimp and Grits is by go-to and my husband ordered the surf and turf. He said it was the best flavor he has had on a steak in a long time. Plus it was cooked exactly as he likes it. The jalapeno cornbread was good and plentiful. The Banana Foster’s bread pudding was a perfect seasonal dessert and we had to take home the homemade “Funny Bone”. Too nostalgic not to try but haven’t had it yet. The only few things which led to me not givig a full 5 stars is that it was very cold in the restaurant. Granted we are in an artic freeze but it became so uncomfortable we had to leave before we wantrd. One last thing, and maybe it was a fluke, but the amount of cornbread we had with the Voodoo shrimp seems to have shrunk.

Another terrific meal from chef Drew and all. Food delicious servers knowledgeable didn’t feel pushed to turn table. Had appetizer voodoo shrimp. Oysters. And pork rind. All perfect. Pork chop special for entree was tasty and just as good next day leftovers. Leave room for dessert beignet. And it’s BYOB. Prices are extremely fair for quality and quantity.

A great place for date night! They were busy- Friday night dinner rush and they got everything out in an impression amount of time. We had a front row seat to the whole kitchen operation thanks to the openness. It’s BYOB which was perfect bc although I love a good wine pairing- I’m training for a marathon. All the staff worked seamless together. If our server was tending to someone else, another server adopted us as her own. As a foodie, I could’ve cried. My bf watched the repeated happy dance with every bite. We were stuffed so no dessert but as a pescatarian who saw vegan options on the menu- we will be back.

Happy New Year! Started it off right with my favorite restaurant (you all know I have been to 100’s all over the country). Drew’s Bayshore Bistro would be my choice if I had to choose a last meal!

see each picture for label and the menu for complete description.

Great staff! Unbelievable service, Drew and the crew are culinary magicians!

My son said the meal was so so good he has to go to confession. You must go, put it on your list.
Next week I’m checking out the calamari for starters.

In the unassuming enclave of Keyport, New Jersey, Drew’s Bayshore Bistro has been quietly cultivating a reputation among discerning diners since its inception in 2005. Chef Drew Araneo, a local stalwart, has dedicated himself to the art of Cajun and Low Country cuisine, infusing each dish with a palpable sense of authenticity and care.

Upon entering the bistro, one is immediately struck by its intimate ambiance—a modest space that eschews pretense in favor of genuine warmth. The BYOB policy further enhances this personal touch, allowing patrons to curate their own dining experience.

The culinary journey commences with the Voodoo Shrimp, where plump crustaceans are enveloped in a robust, spicy Worcestershire cream sauce, complemented by jalapeño cornbread. This appetizer sets a formidable precedent, showcasing Chef Araneo’s deft hand with bold flavors.

The Shrimp and Grits elevate a Southern classic to new heights, featuring succulent shrimp intermingled with Benton’s bacon, mushrooms, and scallions atop a bed of green chile cheese grits. The harmonious balance of textures and flavors speaks to a refined culinary sensibility.

Equally noteworthy is the Pork Du Jour, a rotating selection that might present a tender shank one evening or a perfectly seared chop the next. Each iteration is accompanied by thoughtfully prepared seasonal sides, underscoring a commitment to local produce and meticulous preparation.

In an era where gastronomic establishments often succumb to fleeting trends, Drew’s Bayshore Bistro remains steadfast in its dedication to time-honored culinary traditions. Chef Araneo’s unwavering passion is evident in every meticulously crafted dish, solidifying the bistro’s status as a culinary beacon in the Garden State.

Had an absolutely wonderful dinner here with a friend. The host was so friendly and kind, seated us immediately and out server was a delight as well. All the food we ordered was phenomenal and so divinely delicious. Couldn’t get enough of the short rib but I had to box it to go so I could try the dessert. The creme bruleé was so amazing, couldnt stop eating it. The portions are much bigger than expected, be sure to bring your second stomach!

Celebrated my birthday at Drew’s Bayshore Bistro. It was our first time dining here. Food is incredible. The voodoo shrimp, the sauce was so flavorful. I just needed some bread to soak it up. We ordered pork chops, shrimp and grits, and beef cheeks. The portions are generous, dishes were flavorful. For dessert we ordered the corn ice cream. Which sounds odd but was SO good! Service was great, we were not rushed which we appreciate. The restaurant is BYO and street parking. We will definitely be back again!
