SoulEdge: Late One Night…
Arrived at La Terreza Cafe and Bar, met Sebastian my server. He gave me good service. I ordered a Margherita Pizza, the traditional way without the slice tomatoes toppings. Its crust was ok, good sauce & I can taste the Basil. My issue was it had too much cheese. Before anyone can criticize me, I had pizza at AHU|MAR in Dua Hotel Miami, St. Regis Bar at Bal Harbour, & Market at Miami Beach Edition. These hotels are within Marriott International. Look at their pizzas. Sebastian recommended Drakes, and I like it. Drakes has good service & atmosphere, ditto music. Nice Chips & Garlic Aioli. Excellent Burger with Blue Chesse & Arugula, crisp buns. Good portions of fries & seasoning. I recommend adding Coconut or Mango ice-cream, to the Dessert Menu. Kudos to the DJ, Julia my server, and Sebastian. Visit dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend who looks like Lagertha from a vikings tv show. Cue in the songs ” The Fate of Ophelia” by Taylor Swift & “Lose My Mind” by Don Toliver (ft. Doja Cat)

This little cozy bar is located just inside the Marriott Hotel. When you walk into Drakes there’s a DJ, just a small keyboard like setup. I didn’t think the music matched what the decor and atmosphere felt like.
It’s an L shaped room with classy old mahogany kind of furniture, it reminded me of what a smokers lounge would look like, but nice.
We had just one drink and peanuts. The server was attentive and pleasant and came to you wherever you sat. There’s various chairs and couches as well as the bar to sit at.

Food order was wrong, which was fine after correcting it. We asked for hot sauce from 3 different people and it never came. We ordered the jerk chicken quesadilla and the empanadas. It was supposed to be jerk chicken and was regular chicken. Both orders were completely flavorless and are likely both frozen food that was reheated. Had a bite of each and didn’t eat the rest. Haven’t seen a server since we got our food over an hour ago. We ordered Negroni’s and Manhattans and they were all vermouth. $50 for two glasses of vermouth is not worth it. Plenty of good cocktail bars in the areas. We decided we’d go for craft beer on tap for our next drink and they don’t have any, despite being on the menu. Beer options were mich ultra, coors light, corona light and mich light. Very surprising for a JW and would never come back.

Drakes Bar is located inside the JW Marriott Hotel at 1109 Brickell Ave, Miami, FL 33131 . It opens every day at 5 PM. The staff is polite and attentive. The ambiance at Drakes is elegant and inviting. The cocktail drinks are totally awesome. I highly recommend Drakes Bar for hanging out with friends, family or business associates.

Been walking by this place for months and decided to finally stop in for a drink.
I don’t remember the bartender’s name but she was a pleasure to interact with.
Very nice atmosphere but not a lot going on. It’s a small space that prolly gets packed during business events but could be a great venue for something intimate and special; thinking jazz or the like.
Looking forward to returning soon.

Although it was a little bit understaffed but the Passion and Spice cocktail was really amazing, my girlfriend and I really loved it. It might not look very special but pretty sure it was made with love.

I came down for one drink on a not so busy night… waitresses were rude… gave me my check before I got my drink… gave me zero attention or service… gave me attitude… I’m here for the superbowl… they treated me like I did not belong… no wonder this place is dead on what should be a very busy Saturday. I love the Marriott but completely disgusted about the service at this bar. Please talk you staff- they were much nicer to the male customers than the female customers.
