Such a cute place, service was awesome. After drinks were delivered complimentary fideo soup was served. We got stuffed avocado with tuna salad and chicken salad sandwich with chips and a pickle.

Such a charming entrance, with little trinkets for sale and cute displays.
Ample space for eating and conversating, because they use actual dinner tables, which I thought was very cool!
Never ending supply of coffee, ☕️ very attentive servers, and the food was good! I ate an american breakfast, my friends ate mexican breakfasts. They gave generous servings on all 3 plates. Great for church meetings, and quiet intimate gatherings.

Food is delicious. I ordered a a papa and egg taco and a papa con chorizo ala mexicana and they were both so delicious. The atmosphere is like going to your grandparents house filled with little knickknacks. I felt comfortable going in. Everyone is to attentive to you. Offering more coffee or water or condiments. If I’m in the area again I will most definitely be coming back. Just park in the back.

I visited Downtown Café in Mission on a Sunday around 12:30 PM with a coworker. The place was busy, but we were seated right away, which was a good start. Our waitress seemed new — she was friendly but unsure about basic menu details like what type of beans were served or which sides came with which dishes. That wasn’t a big deal, but things went downhill from there.
It took about 30 minutes for a simple taco plate to come out, which felt excessive even for a “not fast food, but great food” establishment. To make matters worse, my coworker’s order was accidentally delivered to another table, and that table actually ate it without saying anything. The manager came by to explain the mix-up, but by that point our lunch break was over, and my coworker never got to eat.
What was disappointing was the lack of any gesture to make things right — no offer to remake the meal to-go, provide a discount, or offer a small gift card for the inconvenience. Mistakes happen, but how a business responds matters.
The food may be good, but our experience wasn’t. I might give it another try when it’s less busy, but hopefully next time, the service and management are a bit more attentive to the customer experience.

This is a very unique and quaint restaurant. The food and portions are great. The turkey sandwich on croissant delicious and tasty. They have very delicious cakes especially the pistachio and the Mandarin.

Excellent place to take your family and your aunties! I completely love the decor, the ambience and the people, this is a nice place to get together, take your family after church or breakfast! They have a Turkey delight sandwich that comes with strawberries and cream cheese! Fideo soup taste delicious!

This was the wife and my first time at the Cafe. The atmosphere was fine, the service was okay. I ordered the menudo with the tortillas and the fried biscuits. My wife had the pancakes bacon and eggs. We also ordered coffee and sweet tea. Menudo looked and tasted like it was sitting out all day the tripe was overcooked and the tortillas had so much butter you couldn’t even taste the flower. The pancakes were the best part of our meal. The tea tasted like it came out of a plastic bottle it wasn’t brewed. Before I left I did notice the cook was getting the Menudo or the Spanish soup out of the crock pot.
