Stopped with a couple of friends on the way to a VVA meeting at the VFW. They have senior specials which we all tried. You get a cup of soup or a salad, your entree and a bowl of ice cream for desert. Pretty good deal and the food was pretty tasty. Give it a try and thank me later. Also, the diner was in the movie “the blob”. The menu has a few “blob” items. That intrigued me as i was in several scenes in that movie including the famous run out of the movie theater.

Loved this diner, the food was wonderful, the staff were very friendly and loved the vibe of the diner. Was awesome to visit this location as seen from the 1958 classic film, “the blob”. Would go here again when around the area!

We stopped by to see the diner from “The Blob” and while it is the actual place, it looks like it could use an update. The food was OK and the booth felt pretty cramped.

This dinner was in the original “The Blob” horror movie from the ’50s. It’s regular dinner food. We were there about 11 am on a weekday, so not crowded. (Bathroom is clean but cold in winter)

Was pleasantly surprised here at the Downingtown Diner – our waitress was absolutely delightful, the food was fantastic, with truly midcentury options like veal and liver (the veal was delicious) and the entire process was incredibly cozy. We absolutely will return to complete the menu because of how good it was. Overall just so so charming!

Literally the best pancakes I’ve ever had. I swear they must put coke in them or something because they’re so addictive. Over easy eggs were perfectly done, sausage was good. My husband got the blob mess and also thoroughly enjoyed it. Their prices are so good that we even decided to both get a slice of pie or cake which were also good.
The restaurant itself could use with maybe a slight upgrade with maybe some new flooring but I understand the type of look and feel they’re going for.
Our waitress was great and also witnessed her deal with a difficult customer perfectly.
I will definitely be back and send anyone I know who likes pancakes to Downtown Diner!

Classic diner with all the usual favorites done right. This is where “The Blob” was filmed and the menu plays off that. Great service, great prices and cozy old fashioned atmosphere.

Although it isn’t the original diner from The Blob, it was well worth the trip. A little memorabilia made it feel familiar…but the Blob Burger! Oh yeah, the Blob burger was worth it! We shared it, and it was more than enough. We will be back!
